There it is! Gets forward, turns it around the corner and thats the 800. What a knock its been. In all seriousness Micky I really think that the more you post on here the bigger the loser you are so I am right up there! I can reveal that the away changerooms at the Goolwa are a certainty to be ready for season 09. The plan is to convert the umpires room which is also the makeshift weights room in to the vistors area and move the umpires to the away changerooms. It will be modern and is of a very good size. Not many of you have seen it but the Strath coach might be able to tell you about it. He's been in there to advise umpires.

Luvsfooty's Highlights during his 800!

1. FootyMad. what a character he was! Used to post about a topic then abuse you via a private message. Definately one of the tougest competitors on the forum

2. Teflon Coated. amazingly appeared the day after FootyMad quit. What was even more amazing is the fact that TC has now left at the same time Bassani went to Sydney to pursue a career in male modeling.

3. Jelom19. an out and out unit, but geez hasn't he brought some comedy to the forum. Love the the betting markets and the fact that he talks me up. Remember that mark Jelom?

4. The Observer. Don't know much about him but we owe the privlige of posting to him. He started it all way back in January 06.

5. Limb. He works at the local council and does sweet f**k all. Its just so good seeing my rates get put to use.

6. BJErnest. The least controversial poster of all time. BJ fire up and write some nasty stuff. Has he got it in him?

7. Panther32. We know you play in the RMFL, but I have never seen someone miss the GSFL so much. P32 if your so desperate to come back, please sign at the Saints. Your safe with us, you have very little chance of going out in straight sets.

8. Jackpot Jim. Says and does not a whole lot, is the most elusive poster. I think I have worked everyone on this forum out but I still dont know who this is.

9. Cuzzy. by the far the poster that talks the most crap and yet he's wasted another year in talking the Bays up only to see them crash and burn in the Elimination, but having said that we need him on here beacuse it makes the rest of us look so knowledgeable.

10. Micky Conlon. Has been on here for a long time. Very rarely posts anything of length but always sharp

Special mentions to Damian, Kappars, Grape Ape, Eagles23, A Mum, Toughcall, Jingles

Good work LF
800 sensible posts
A mum is already up to 225, With Mclaren still going well with 3 sides still participating she will get Bradman's 334 and then Hayden's 380
by Grand Final day.

Interesting that Cuzzy has finished the season and gone quiet
Jelom must be from Pongy as he has been quiet...maybe the hangover.

Some good weather forecast for the early part of the weekend so there should be some good games

cuzzy hasnt gone quiet, he has been reading up on here, but to be honest all the bickering between the little kids at Mclaren vale bores me to tears. I dont have time to write much anyway to many recruitment meetings. The one thing i will write is the bays vs mt compass game was a disaster, bays played a completley differnt game of footy compared to the month leading up to the game. Compass looked good and although things have fallen apart for them for the last month of the h & a season i think they have hit their form again.

think this forum has lost its purpose, its a shame i used to enjoy getting on here and talking to the blokes who acctually post something worth reading. bring back teflon

Not sure Teffy really brought any substance to the argument!

I agree though, the bickering was laughable!

Compass have hit form! Interesting as Strath may struggle with them this weekend. I still believe Strath will beat them but according to a few reports Burdett running off of Half Back unmarked!! That means Bailey and Burdett without a man in defence, a lot of work to be done by Blakely and co down there then!!

Hey Cuzzy, it is so funny you mention that about the Bays playing a different game to what they have the past month. After the game i was chatting to one of the Bays players and he said that for some unknown reason Bassani had changed the gameplan and style of play for this game. He said he spoke differently than all the other weeks and his instructions were different.

The question i ask you Cuzzy is, was his heart not in it? WHy would he change the style that has been working so well.

This is just my opinion, and of course it could be wrong 8-[ .... but it seems to me that you only really ever 'appear' when you've got something negative to say about McLarens.... and when you say the 'bickering' between the little kids at McLaren bores you to tears..... there was one kid, yes kid, that came on here and was a little immature on one day.... you make it sound like forever  And if it bored you so much how come you know all about it ?? :?

And when you say this forum has lost it's purpose... Why do you say that, what is it's purpose to you??

Definition from the dictionary:
forum
1. a public meeting or assembly for open discussion
2. a public facility to meet for open discussion

Definition from my point of view:
1. A place for people to meet with common interests/discussions (In this case all commonly linked to GSFL)
2. Somewhere to talk about all aspects involved with this common link (IE whether it be, the weather, the canteen, who plays where, who's going to win this weekend, what happened at the game last weekend, etc, etc, etc)
3. Somewhere where to have a laugh and some fun and meet some other interesting people in our own league !!

I don't think it's lost its purpose at all. And I sincerely hope that others don't either. I have really enjoyed hearing other peoples points of view on everything... from the grounds discussions to someone having a joke around... other peoples points of view.

I find it really enjoyable.

It's the same set up as life really.... different characters, different points of views.

O:)

So Yeah!! What she said
Tips this weekend peoples?
Sammuels likes to pull a few tricks from his hat this time of the season! Strange to try these things now and not during the season but to be honest, I quite like the idea of Burdett running off half back. Compass have been missing a bit of drive into the forward line the last few weeks of the H&A's, maybe Burdett might be the answer...

CUZZY
Glad you didn't cut your wrists after Saturday.
Compass weren't that good...Unfortunately your blokes looked a little disinterested and tired.
Maybe the good efforts over the last month to get to the finals caught up with you!!!!

Has Bass finished with the club???
How is the recruiting going?? Has the points system for 2009 been finalised.
Looks to me as though Heuskes might have seen his better days and the Love boys may go with Bass.

Anyway Good luck with recruiting and HOPE Big red takes the coaching reins

I agree Ant, Burdett would be getting the hard tags in the midfield where u may lose some of his drive. He reads the play well so if Compass go through him (which im sure they would every time) when attacking from defence this is a great move providing the defensive action is there or the help from teammates in covering the hard run forward!! My worry is that you cant be too attacking from defence and need to tighten up all over the ground come finals time! A delicate balance is needed!

Very exciting weekend of matches, Semi Final weekend is great and with both the chance to go straight through to the GF and the chance to keep ur season alive, theres much to play for.

Tips, Willunga and Strath to win but finals are a different kettle of fish and could throw up 1, maybe 2 upsets.

Willunga and Strath would go in favourites thats for sure, if compass are to be any chance at all the likes of Fromme and Chettham need to kick goals... this is one area they have struggled in all season, they just haven't had enough forwards firing. Come finals time you can't expect to win matches by only putting 10-12 goals on the scoreboard.
Willunga and Compass for me. Best of luck Saturday BJ 8)

I'm going with Creeks and Compass. Willunga to lose a couple in a row (will still win the premiership), just have a gut feeling. Compass i think have Straths measure, bit of a bogey side for the roosters i believe. Wouldn't it be great to see Strath out in straight sets after beating Willunga in round 18! [-o< :prayer: \:D/

I dont think you can blame the coach for some of the players not playing their best games. Nothing was differnt before the game or at any of the breaks. Bass was just as lively and enthusiastic as normal. If you were at the game Mr teach you would have seen what happened jsut before half time and therefore it would explain the mood in which the players returned to the feild after half time. Unfortunatly the player who caused this upset let the team down, but on a positive has been awsome all year so cannot take that away from him.

As i said only people who saw the game and close supporters will know what happened. But dont take anything away from compass, played well and think the game this week will be alot closer than what everyone thinks.
