You may not believe this, but as far as I know it's true. Steve O'Connor had a twisted testicle (ouch) and got out of hospital to watch training from a car and deferred operation to be at game. Went under the knife either the night of the GF or next day. had to leave straight after match. I believed though it was a 60/40 game (and am on record), because Ango's score in the 2nd Semi despite the margin was their highest against them for the year and was 25 scoring shots to 22. I don't believe Willaston choked however their response (perhaps understandably) to Angaston's rearranged lineup was minimal. Johncock smashed Green in the 2nd semi, however Olly moved him away from him into attack where he kicked some big early goals. Spanagel double teamed Johncock and the little known Dave Dahlenberg made a contest in any stoppages forward of half back. Spanna took the centre bounces. Willaston were working their way back into the game in the 3rd quarter when a stupid bit of play saw a free kick or mark reversed at CHB and become a 50 and a gimme. Game basically over from then.

Well if that is true, its a amazing story , Steven Spielberg would love to get his hands on a script like that .

But i have to ask the question , how the f-ck do you twist your testicle ?? the mind boggles ...

Sounds as though the Blockies are confident with their training sessions but not a bad move when you think about it. They may lose this week and not have another chance to train there again in daylight, good proactive coaching I would think. I wonder if Nelson may also be thinking about a training run there now.

Thanks for bringing some isight to the debate skip. Since you were there, how did you rate your favourite player B Bascombe's performance that day?

Completely ridiculous debate JD, Ango won and that is it, no one cares about who came second(even if their coach had a twisted testicle). Ango backed it up by playing on the 04 GF, this proves that they where not just lucky but a good side. How BB played, I have no idea and don't care he was one of 21 in that side.

Skip, you don't always see much at the games you go to. BB was awarded BOG that day

Hey Hafey who do you think will win the medal in the BLG this year?

Brad Taylor B&S !

Always polls well and has possibly had his most consistant season i am told. Brad goes about his craft very much like former Richmond great Geoff Raines . His big hangers, ferocious attack on the pill, the ability to turn on a threepenny bit and kick a long racking goal shows his supperior class in the BL&G.

Brad ticks all the boxes necassary to claim this seasons Brownlow equivelant .

Not a bad pick Hafey but again showing your lack of credibilty, Taylor doesn't take hangers.

Well if your always right Hafey, then we should all expect to see Brad Taylor take home the Schluter Medal next Monday night... If you are wrong then your credibility is dented and your not always right.
But which Brad Taylor will it be??? Kapunda or Gawler Central's???

Amazing story Sunblower, Also got told that Mark Miels was given the A-Grade Grand Final to umpire that day and only because it was his last season (Miels absolutely hates Willaston and Willaston were fuming about the decision not to have the two best umpires for the year officiating the game) A Joke that the umpires association makes decisions like that!
I hope it doesnt happen in this year otherwise it might cost us an undefeated season!!!

Hey guys, don't let the facts get involved re the operation which did happen, it would kill Hafey's view of a bloke he clearly doesn't like. To the extent of saying bu--ll shit to justify his dislike of the man. I have read and heard about Ocker's football journey, I know stuff all about Hafey and what he may have done and I have been around!

Hafey, I am new to this medium not to footy. When I found the site I read through most posts from early 07 to current in Amateur footy and Barossa League. Know about amateur league, have friends and family playing in Barossa/Light league.

What BB you talkin about you might need to be clearer, was it Brenton Bascombe, Ben Burgess, Brett Burgess or Beau Byster. I remember Beau kicked 5 that day, may have been Kent Kingsley goals but still had to be in the right spots to kick them, it was a great effort. Not sure how the Ben played but Brett sat most of game on the bench so im guessing it wasn't him, and i spose Basco might have been his brilliant self back in those days..

Matt Slade to coach gawler centrals next year, the tigers committee better hope Bryant doesn't take them to a premiership

Also heard Robert Pyman and Craig Cotter to coach willaston.

JD you are pathetic, someone comes on and backs you up and all you can do is have a go back at them. It just shows that you have nothing better to do with your time. I can assure you my view of the game would have been a whole lot better than yours, as I said BB was 1 of 21 out there.

Stirlo i am not sure that is excatly perfect preperation for a assualt at this years premiership, announcing the coach's contract will not be renewed before the season is out and still a shot at bringing home the silverware.

I have also heard the Craig Cotter rumour after John Abbott's application was torn up due to his proposed 4 year plan. Robert Pyman is a intresting name to throw his hat in the ring. Ben Walton is also on there radar .

Can anyone remember when Hafey thought Ivan Silvy was a full back getting paid per goal?
