I'm not sure exactly who is leaving. Seems there's a number - but I can't remember who because we'd had a few sodas by then.
But, the bloke I was talking to is talking about playing at Uni in SACA.
He's a fan of yours LM :D. Wicketkeeper.

He must be an older fella then, I haven't done much against ATCO in the A's for a few years, unless you were being sarcastic, I've upset a few people over the years.

You were right on the second count. He's only a youngish fella.
He reckons you've given him a few sprays over the years ;)

It's all part of the game, it stays on the field though, I have mates from opposition clubs that we have had continual verbal confrontations over the years, we're always good for a beer after the game though.

Our team has more fun sledging each other nowadays, don't dare drop a catch.

Can you say the para teachers player? wouldnt be M.Freyer would it???

I can't really say at this stage, we are still negotiating at the moment, I don't think that their club from last year knows about it yet. We have chatted to a Para Teachers player aswell who is giving it some thought, once again, I don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot if word gets out.

We basically need someone who can open the batting and someone with onfield leadership qualities and then we'll have a well balanced side, we have a couple of good juniors who'll probably slot into the A's before too long.[/quote]

Not at this stage mate, work-mates of a couple of our A grade players, I can say that Freyer has not been mentioned. Who are you involved with?

hanno, I think you may have mis-interpreted my comment a bit, in one paragraph, I was commenting on talks with Para Teacher players, in the other paragraph, stating we are looking for a possible captain, I wasn't pointing out that our possible captain was someone ear-marked from PTCC.

Raed Hannun has been a fantastic player for us who has had the burden of being the skipper aswell for the last couple of years. We believe that we'd be a better side if he was able to just concentrate on playing, IMO opinion, he doesn't bowl enough (The usual captain's curse) and quite often has to bat where is not best suited for various reasons.

RIP Frank Carter

Found out this morning that Frank passed away after having a heart attack.

He was a great man and absolutely fantastic for the PDCA. He will be missed.

I am shattered, we had our ups and downs on a personal level, over the past few years he has been such an inspiration for me, I struggle to find extra time in my life as it is, he has asked me to help out with the junior association teams over the past couple of years, there's no way I could say no to him, after all he done for the PDCA.

I hope everyone rallies around and helps the executive committee fill a huge hole that Franks hard work over the years has left. The PDCA will take a long time to recover, may he Rest In Peace.

Condolences to his family who he was so proud of.

Sorry to hear the news about Frank. Did much for the comp, whether everyone agreed or not. Leaves a massive hole. Will be missed.

Are there any cantidates to replace him from the association? Or will it have to be someone from a club?
