Exactly we would not be happy if we lost in the GF and still did not go up to Div 1. definately wouldnt be taken lying down thats for sure

Not sure what you are on about efc. If Edwardstown left only one team would be relegated from div 2 and every division downwards. If they make the GF and leave then only one team will be relegated from div 1 downwards.

Surely if this is the case it would have to be announced before the season or earlier on. SAAFL house would be burnt to the ground if the loser fo the GF missed out on promotion!!!!

think about that Shrek. I havent said EFC are leaving but if you think about what you just said you would see you are wrong. Say EFC dont make the GF so MOD and SHOC go up and efc leave.TWO go up efc leave and one goes down . still need 2 to come up from div 3 and 2 to come down from div 1.

EFC make the grand final but as you say leave this means one go up to div 1 and 1 comes down to div 2 still 2 bootom sides relegated from div 2 and the top 2 from div 3 go up. (why would that part change)

I have not said EFC are leaving at any time you are making an assumption. I am just replying to your post about the promo and relegation.

My original post will unfold in the next couple of weeks

You need to think about what you have posted. What I have said is right. If EFC leave and don't make the GF, two teams come down from div 1, two come up from div 3, but only Mod, SHOC, EFC and the bottom team leave. This leaves a ten team comp in divs 1 and two. As only one team goes down to div 3 only one team will be relegated from div 3 and so on down the divs.

If EFC make the GF then leave only the bottom team will be relegated from div 1, Mod to go up and Seaton down leaving a ten team div 1. As only one team is coming down to div 2 only one team will be relegated and so on down the divs.

In the absence of teams leaving then the promotion rule must be changed but only for the div 2-div 1 transition.

Interesting write up for amateurs in the advertiser i must say.
SHARKS READY TO BITE
Henley is confident it can bounce back from a potentially spirit-sapping QF loss to Salis Nth to beat Gepps Cross in SAAFL finals on sat.
The Sharks were already looking fwd following sat loss.
Operations manager Mick Hicks, "you can't take anything away from Salis Nth - they played a very good first qtr before the rain set in & its hard to do anything about that," he said " we've had some nasty losses through the season but we're a proud group so the team gets over a loss pretty well.
"We had a recovery session Sunday morn & the boys told each other a few home truths so we'll be ready to go."
"We beat them at Gepps Cross last time & we've got the home final, which is alway good."
Henley will have the home ground advantage for sat first semi-final & could welcome back former Woodville West Torrens utility Tim Inkster, who has missed the past 3 weeks with a hamstring injury.

I'm sure Inkster played the last minor round game against Gepps Cross, meaning he's only missed the 1 week not 3.
When the rain started Salis Nth still out-scored Henley 6.9 to 5.4, it didn't set in either it was just on & off showers.
I spoke to a Henley bloke saturday after the game & although dissappointed he said they were very confident of beating Gepps Cross next week.
Maybe they don't rate Gepps Cross.

Great comment from Mick Hicks, this guy really has his finger on the pulse, we actually played them at Henley 2 weeks ago, maybe time has left him behind! Inkster played that day also.

Was the recovery session held at the Lakes resort????

Gepps Cross are the team to watch.. Henley will have to play a very classy game to beat them. Gepps are strong right across the park.. Tagging may come into it.

Forget about Scotty, he couldn't coach his finger out his arse! The man that needs to be in charge is Hosie!

The Port District Player Banks. Has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?
