I'll be thankful if I don't have to sit through something like that again - even if it was the All Blacks doing the belting. To say that the Wallabies played a terrible game isn't quite giving it* to the Springbox who played out of their skins.

Welcome everyone to the Tri Nations final coming to you live from Suncorp stadium in Brisbane.

The script writers have their dream finale as Tri-Nations 2008 all comes down to the wire in Brisbane!
Contrasting form for these two trophy-hunting sides coming into this clash – Australia on the receiving end of a Springbok pride-saver while the All Blacks strolled past Samoa – but nothing should be made of the past.

It’s here and now with fascinating match-ups all over the field that will be great to watch, not least one up in the stand as Deans takes on Henry...so take your seats sit back and enjoy hopefully an enthralling game!

Here we go then with Matt Giteau kicking things off to Ali Williams who claims well.
The Wallabies have it on halfway with Moore putting his head down before Sharpe is met solidly - free-kick Aus.

Robinson sets a decent platform with another free-kick blown for on the NZ 22.
Referee Kaplan is hot on the ground so far as there's another short-arm awarded, this time for the All Blacks, who clear to their own ten-metre.

Kaplan has gone for a full-arm now as a Wallaby jumper is pulled down in the lineout..Giteau lines one up..but it's not got the distance as McCaw dabs down under the cross-bar.
NZ defensive throw 20 out from their line...

Giteau's kick from hand is far too long to his opposite number who marks and sends a superb clearance downfield.
This time the Force star finds his range with an intelligent one against the grain..but good work from Sivivatu bring NZ away to their ten-metre.

NZ have their first opportunity of the evening here with a short-arm just outside the opposition 22.
Cowan waits to put in after a couple of resets delay things slightly..Carter waits..but it's So'oialo who breaks open with Kaino in support. However, the six knocks-on and Aus will look to clear from here.

The All Blacks have possession with Nonu switching well down the short side 30 out.
Ball is in centre-field yet Kaplan is not happy at this early stage and warns Mortlock there will be cards if Aus continue to infringe...scrum NZ.

MULIAINA TRY CONVERTED BY CARTER! 0-7! Smart play from Cowan as he taps quickly from another free-kick and the overlap is subsequently created. Quick hands should see them over and that it is, as Nonu slips to his full-back to open up the spectacle!

Worrying signs for the Wallabies so far as they're on what seems like their final warning from Kaplan.
The hosts do have possession here though as the SA official is consistent with his calls...penalty Aus on halfway..

What a nightmare for Giteau as his touch-finder drifts the wrong side of the corner flag.
Desperate calls from Cordingley for Kaplan to check with the TMO..but 'play on' is the response!
Australia back in possession on the ten-metre with Mortlock this time over-cooking a grubber into the in-goal.
It all still seems slightly nervy in Brisbane by the Wallabies!

GITEAU PENALTY! Palu will be pleased to see McCaw step over the wrong side though as three points consolidates the Wallabies.
