I think Morry was one of the umps - not sure about the other one.

Hahndorf on Sat, Balhannah on Sun.

All i can say is i'm glad onkas are missing out on the finals they are a bunch of young kids with big mouths. i think mt barker could be a good show if they can get to the gf against lofty. For all our sake let's hope lofty dont win three in a row.

Paul Leibelt the other umpire and he wouldnt report unless it was really bad. Both umpires reported him, was it last night or is it tonight, any result?

Bawden is by far the best ruckman and arguably best player in the hills league. He finished third in Lofty's B&F and played only half the games at most. The only big man that would have him covered for speed and agility would be Usain Bolt.

Question- Who are the biggest under-achievers in Hills Central 2008? Onkas? IB? or could Uris or Hahndorf squeeze in? (their judgement should be reserved for Sunday night I guess).

Good question...... I guess since Uris and Dorfs made the 5 they cant be the "biggest" underachievers. Any side that has Sheeba, Smart, Contin, 2 x Smiths, Wescombe, Dibber etc you would think should be pretty handy and would have been a bare minimum to be expecting to play in Sept. IB sprouted all pre season how well they had recruited in Kock, Manno etc but really these blokes had very little influence on any games and will be interesting to see if they hang around along with the River Murray boys and the Marion boys - Wendleborn etc.... might have been their best chance for a year or two.

With Collo as coach biggest underachievers - Onkas  ..... Will be interested to see if he stays, and if he goes, who he will take with him......

Whoever loses on Sunday will be right in the mix for biggest under-achiever. Uri's and Hahndorf both have top three lists, IMO better than both Blackwood and Mt Barker. The onkas boys you mentioned are top notch in HFL, but do they really have much else? (add Kerber). IB as a youngish side would hope to see continual improvement, they took a big backward step. And a question for IB people- did Muffy play the last two games? If not, was he injured? Do you think he will be at the Thunderdome next year? For one of the most hyped recruits into the HFL for a long time, do you think he met these huge expectations?

Re Muffy, there was a post on the RMFL thread a month ago that he may be back playing in the RMFL next year, possibly with Ramblers.

Muffy is a gun footballer, anyone who's seen him in the RMFL would say that, i think he's had off field problems affecting him though this year.

Agree Onkas would be very dissapointed with the way the season panned out, but at least they didn't throw thousands of dollars down the drain to get to where they got. Not sure if the same can be said for Ironbank, Uraidla, Hahndorf and Blackwood assuming the last three all fail to take it out.

Muffy - has had injuries early in the season & family work issues for the last half of season which has made him not available for much of the year. He was and still is one of the most talented footballers going round, and for mine - EVER been running around in country football. It was a major thorn in my ass this year - and if he was available more I am sure we would have been contesting finals. He is a legend bloke & his ability and energy rubs off on any side he plays for. He will not be at Ironbank next year that is for sure - TOP BLOKE - LEGEND PLAYER - will be interesting to see whether he plays again closer to home or even Coach

Big games this weekend- blackwood v barker is tough to call, not much in it. I'd expect Uraidla to win against Hahndorf due to the finals experience they have all over the field compared to Hahndorf. We saw the best and worst of Hahndorf last weekend against the Devils, their best was very good in the first quarter but the last 3 quarters were a pretty ordinary.

In the B's Lofty and Ironbank match up again. Not much in it, both teams having a win against each other this year.

Onkas to beat Barker in a close B Grade elimination final.

IMO, Legends are players like Big Red from Uris and Ledge King or J.Sziller from Loby Lynton Bishop from Hahndy (I'm sure there are about 10 from Hahdy and Loby and probably a couple from Barker that could be counted as Legends).

A lot of people hold this Muffy bloke in high regard as he's obviously played some good footy in the past, but legend.....no and doesn't look like matching the likes of the players listed above.

DA, unfortunately we didn't see his best in the Hills as I think he is a bit past his prime but I can tell you he is regarded as a legend in the RMFL ranks and I've played against him (not direct opponent) in the RMFL and HFL and sometimes you just watch in awe as he goes about his business.

I consider him as one of the best country footballers I've seen play and at his prime would be up there with the Ledge King's and Jake Sziller's.

I think if he gets a good pre-season under his belt and really shifts his off-field focus back to footy he could re-capture some of his great touch back in the RMFL.

Explain to me their accompishments they have had compared to Muffy's endless medal list. Only legends because you know them from Hills football. Ignorant comment & I know it is an opinion, but bloody hell the only thing Muffy has not done is play AFL. A LEGEND - for sure. Look up the mail medal book people and it will change your mind - compare that and come back to me to the so called LEGENDS mentioned before.
