Slow start to the day for me, a day that was almost my last when I choked on my corn flakes!!!!! Take nothing away from Follett (thoroughly deserves it) but how the hell did Hams only get 4 votes. If you kick 4 bags of 9, a 12 and you beat your nearest rival by 60 goals you deserve more than that. And dont tell me that Nankaville polled 3 in the last game against us. The last round was Philp 3, O.Love 2 and S.Baggs 1. What next? A GF at Mount Compass???

I thought that fatherhood may have slowed you up but not even that can keep the great man down!

Hate to state the obvious but the GSFL is a joke! Absolute clowns running the show!

The programming of the finals! Finals should not be played at Compass or Myponga this year. Why doesn't the league have a think about it, for instance, the grand final could be held at Victor, with Mount Compass volounteers and Committee members running the canteen, bar etc and taking the 'takings' back to Compass with them! This way the football club does not miss out on there money from hosting a final.

I dont think Mt Compass will be a huge issue come GF week depending on the weather in the next month. Its not certain that it will be there anyway with Compass still in the finals. Myponga on the other hand should be examined mid week next week to determine whether its suitable and the adjustment made accordingly.

How logistically do you take over someones canteen? Stock in the Bar and Canteen is already bought by the existing club. Hard to transfer your bar/canteen stock from one location to another and then moved back after the game.

I know a couple from the Southern league will also be asked.

Justin Kingmill from Myponga has played the last 2 weeks at South 19's and also Jake Stangewitz was asked but declined he is going out this week to train

Good point BJ. There's more to getting a club & ground ready than just rocking up. I think its fair that every club gets to host a GF. Pongys oval will recover. They played there last 2 games away but if they get a down poor like they did b4 the Mclarens game then get ready for the mud! Footys a winter sport so the wheather plays a part in the result of a game.

It is quite easily done, if Victor isn't programmed to hold a finals match (not sure if they are or not), they would have cleared out all their food stock and possibly grog, Compass have there food deliveries made to Victor (just using these two clubs as an example) during the week and a trailer load of grog taken there instead of compass friday night. Little bit of work to be done by committees members but it has been done before, maybe not in this league but it has worked in the SFL and other regional leagues. gate takings go to the GSFL in finals and i would suspect more people would attend a game at Victor than at Compass, more people = more food & drink sales for compass and more $$$ for the league.

Yeah! If you don't like the mud go and play in the Mallee league or somewhere.

Very good point BJ.

Grand final day is busy enough let alone adding the prospect of having to run your canteen out of somebody elses in all aspects whether it be stock, what goes where, different pricing etc, etc, etc.

I think grand final day will be grand no matter where it is.... we'll adjust and make the best out of the situation whether it be playing, parking, supporting... whatever it be O:)

Cant wait for GF day .... bring it on \:D/

Many moons ago i played in a final & association match at Compass and it was great. The attmosphere was second to none, apart from a GF, for a country match.

I'll just tell you that I have a son who is a junior colt :D

As with any forum don't really want just everybody and anybody to know exactly who I am... the ones who I personally know, know who I am.

Hope that's okay, makes sense and that you understand Stangas O:)
