Not sure about Cicca...he played in the 2s vs Glenelg last weekend, and given I don't know his final stats or what his overall performance was, in about the third term, the ball was only 20 metres away and he had a chance to get on the end of it and he was standing still, hand on hips, and looking away from where the ball was. This surprised me a bit because Cicca has always hunted the footy...perhaps he was sore, or is still getting back some fitness, but it suggested he wasn't all that interested...

I would say fitness TB .that was his first game back for many months .Mind you at that stage even the Eagle fans were not that interested in the seconds .

Well, given the lack of intensity he was able to offer, I'd be doubtful he could line up for the league side this week...still, his experience and marshalling of the troops would be very valuable for the Eagles, in their attempt to mount  a late charge to the final five. No doubt we'll know the sides by Thursday/Friday...

Not neccessaraly season over for the eags with a loss in this game. If bays beat the pies it all comes down to the last game of the season.

Geddes would have to be doubtful, with his leg iced up for the last quarter yesterday. Fitzgerald would be the likely replacement. Vince and Salter starting for us are in the hands of their AFL clubs.

The last time the Eagles played Norwood was our worst game of the season. The Eagles have just got to keep this momentum going and who knows.

Can't the Eagles still take Port's spot if they win both games and Port lose both or is the percentage to great?

If Port lose both and Eagles win both then the Eagles will fill the remaining spot with a 2 pt gap on Port.

Would need to make up about 103 points in difference, so is possible. Norwood would be safe in the 5, even if they lose both games, if Glenelg beat Port this week or if Port beat the Eagles in Round 23.

In actual fact Aerie if we were to win both, Port and Norwood lose both then we would finish 4th.

Eagles 20 (4th)
Norwood 19 (5th)
Port 18 (6th)

According to the eagles website - Schwarze is 1 wk away and Cody Hicks and James Rimmington to be tested. I would expect Cody to come back through the 2's maybe Rimma back in the A's

Love it how people on here talk down their side's ability at every chance they get. If they win, it sounds like a thrilling, backs against the wall victory, and if they lose, it was an expected, but honourable loss.

If you take last week's form into consideration, Eagles beat a top 2 side and Norwood fumbled and bumbled their way past the bottom team. Eagles at home. Eagles favourites.
Take the last few weeks into consideration (the best way to track form) and its 50/50 IMO. I will be bitterly disappointed if Norwood lose this, but by no means are we favourites!!

If Norwood loses the last 2, and Eagles win the last 2, by no means will this be a miracle as one poster is claiming.

Mate I paid my money and have been to every game this year and if my beloved Eagles beat Norwood and Port and make the five it will be a miracle.
Firstly eagles beat Norwood at the parade because Norwood players self destructed and gave the eagles goals/game in the last ten minutes.
Secondly Eagles have not beaten port this year but thats a week away.
Norwood must start as favourites due to
A/ they have thrashed the eagles at oval ave this year
B/Norwood are in the five at present and therefore are higher on the ladder.

The only way for the Eagles to win is for the team to continue with the game plan they have been using for the last month. And for us fans/members/supporters to be at Oval Ave in force (all 2000 odd of us)and yelling screaming supporting our boys .Fortress Oval Ave must come back for this week again like it was upto and including 2006.
Pretty footy wont win this game but the style that beat the bays will

It's a bit hard for me to be at Woodville Oval to see the game when I'll be at Norwood with the 19s, but I'll be there in Spirit to bring the guys home with a win, because we are the UNDERDOGS.

I guess when you are 7th and 5 goals down against 2nd it might warrant that observation.

Because The Eagles are better than Norwood, we've played them both this year & they're much better, simple as that.

Spot on, Norwood are the very Warm favourites for those reasons.

I thought I'd check out thornton sportsbet for their idependent opinion, odds not up yet. They have the venue down as Thebarton Oval though!!
