very interesting sides, i would think that Blum from bays would feature in that team of the year if he had played more games and Jacob Baggs, surely would be close also. Did anyone consider Philp as the second ruckman at all, he has dominated this year in the ruck for the bays and can play most other positions as very skilled and has some serious speed for a ruckman.

I forgot about Philp, but he would be the 2nd best ruckman in the comp in 08. If he works on the body on body side of things and comes up with some more variations on his tap work he could be anything. Imagine being athletic..................

LF you would have attended who won the junior medals last night if the count was in fact last night?

It is usually the Monday before the Wednesday night Senior Count.

no one has a coach but mine will come from the following:

Pilmore: Obvious choice, great record
Bassani: has a very young, local side that have played at their absolute peak
Lewis: Yank have won more games this year than in the past 5.

BJ junior medals are the 1st of September

I like Cratey as an umpire... especially with the younger kids...ie Junior Colts.

If this is the case, will be sad to see him go from that role :(

Gday all, new bloke on deck.

You are right A Mum, Cratey is an asset to the umpire's panel and it would be sad to see him leave. As for him getting the C/Beach job may be a little too soon yet as it was only advertised in the Sunday Mail recent issue.

Cratey will get the Saints job thats for sure & they will challenge the tops sides once again.
Is Micky going to the medal? all depends on his muscle shirt getting back from the dry cleaners on time.

Cratey shuold get the job. Has anyone seen Cratey's photo in the Christies Club? It is priceless with a massive head of ranger locks.

Micky - I was speaking with the SFL president recently and he told me that the Lovelock Shield maybe up and running again when the SFL contract expires with the SAFL. Would be tops to get this going again.

Jelom surely your not changing steele, follett and portlock off the bench??? I must say that that teams are only as good as the weakest link. Taking that in to consideration this team is one of the best I've seen. Even the water boys are quality. Speaking of water boys does anyone find it strange that we haven't heard from Teflon Coated lately? Has he moved to Sydney as well!!!!

I was just having a look at the GSFL website at the finals information and noticed that the gates for the finals don't open until 8-30am.

The Junior Colts start at 9-45 and are usually there about an hour before the game.... so a little bit of a fine line/rush if cars are lined up to get in for them to get to the changerooms etc..... :-k

I always thought the gates opened much earlier than this during finals??

Hey LF thanks for the reply thought you'd like that team was going to rest portlock in a pocket and follett on half forward steele can spend some time on the bench, maill medal tonite are you going LF ive had a truck load of money invested on Maxfield and also eagleton but the most money is coming for Bridges(someone is keen) My trifecta is Maxfield Hutchinson and Hams.
A Mum your right about the gates opening but how many clubs actually have gates they can shut to prevent people entering I know of a few grounds that dont have them and if you entered before 8.30 would you be getting charged or do they just charge after 8.30, Lf any gates at goolwa?Ill be back tommorow with my tips and another bet

True Jelom :D

But I have this feeling they 'fence' the gate off with rope or something .... otherwise the ground would be full before the gate people even turned up !!

I remember when I was 'new' to the GSFL and there was a grand final at Willunga... we got to Willunga at 7am and the oval was already full and we couldn't get a park !!

Another reason why I don't understand the 'lateness' of opening up the gates.

I suppose we'll find out O:)
