Couldn't disagree with you more Drebin...I quite like listening to Rowey on 5AA...then again, his style isn't for everyone. Similarly a lot of people don't like Rex Hunt's calling of footy, but I enjoy listening to him as well...it's good to have different styles I think.

Caught about 10 minutes of the Sunday Footy show on 5AA yesterday and Rowey and Wildy had a pretty interesting chat about North ... Rowey started it by singing Jars praises and claiming North had a lot of trouble-maker's among their supporters, he defended Jar's reign and suggested he wouldn't be going anywhere ... Wildy sounded pretty passionate in his objection and clearly wasn't prepared to let Rowey's thoughts go through uncontested.

He suggested the supporters had a legitimate right to ask questions and get some answers with all of the off-field issues this year, including an apparent fall-out between the GM (or President, can't remember which) and coach.

I'm sure Rowey carefully researched the facts before commenting....

You would have to ask him mate, I just reported it as I heard it ... I'd guess there's a fair likelihood that he wouldn't have had a grasp of all (or perhaps many) of the facts.

Of course Row would support his great mate" Jars - he would be getting a one sided version of what is happening at North. He should find out the other side of the happenings off field before he opens his mouth.

Whilst on Rowe, he is quite possibly one of the worst hosts ever given a radio gig. His ability to destroy the Queens English every 5 minutes hours on end, week after week is cringe worthy stuff. Plus his mindless yelling and screaming and those Rex hunt type "sayings" he makes up that make no sense whatsoever would have him right up there as the biggest d*ickhead on radio.

God help 5AA if he is the favourtie to replace KG.

Loved Rowey as a footballer, don't mind him as a bloke ... can't stand him as a commentator. Just loves the sound of his own voice, and too willing to pass an opinion without knowing the facts.

Unfortunately, he will replace KG, and take his place in an industy that, for some unknown reason, prefers its on-air "talent" to be as annoying as possible.

Won't bother me though, I haven't listened to 5AA in over 2 years. They offer me nothing.

Each to their own TB but Rex Hunt and Steven Rowe are IMHO childish attention seekers with no real skills other than to attempt to grab peoples attention by being loud and stupid. Neither could lay claim to being particularly intelligent and really offer nothing except over the top and forced enthusiasm. Really what insightful commentary do you get other than making up stupid nicknames for players then proceeding to flog them to death by using them every time the said player is anywhere near the play? If anything Rowe is much worse than Hunt as Rowe is just a copycat of Hunt and does it even worse. Just unintelligent loud and crass morons who are anything but entertaining or insightful. If you enjoy them then that's fine but they aren't my cup of tea.

Have to agree about Rowey, he was something different to start with, but now is predictable in everything he does and says, (he and Amanda Blair would make a great duo on radio). 5AA is not interactive with listeners, they only push the contraversial line, or if you dont agree with me, you can get the flick. I have given up listening to Rowey altogether and when I listen to AFL I listen to ABC (how dreary of me, at least its footy). North arn't imploding, they are having the same rough trot as all the other teams do throughout the season, only more consistantly that the top 4 teams, a few wins on the trot and all the little chicken pluckers will be right behind the bloke waving thier red and white flags like nothing had happened.
