New single The Day That Never Comes released today.

Sounds pretty good.
Along the lines of The Unforgiven, Fade to Black and Welcome Home.

As much as I like all those songs, hard to include The Unforgiven in the same sentence as those other two immortals.

When do you get your coffin pack mate?

September 12 I think. That's when the album comes out.

They've brought back the solo big time. This song is so similar to their 80s stuff.

My lucky prick of a brother is seeing Metallica play at the Leeds festival this weekend (i was there last year and had to make do with the Chilli Peppers - robbed!) will be interesting to find out how much of their new stuff they play! Ive seen them twice and they usually dont mess around with playing too much of the new stuff.

Keen as for the new album - hope im not setting myself up for a dissapointment!

I think they'd play a handful of new songs.
But they don't normally play anything from Load or Reload.

I saw them about 2 years ago in Holland when it was the 20th anniversey of Master of Puppets, and they played the entire album from beginning to end. They played a stack of other hits before and after this, but oddly one of these was "Fuel" or "The Memory Remians" i cant quite remember which one, but it certainly sounded out of place!

My fave songs from the Load/Reload experiment or Carpe Diem Baby, and the chorus for Outlaw Torn.

Outlaw Torn is one of my faves (actually reckon it's the best one on the Symphony album) ... Also like "Until It Sleeps"

This version is magnificent from a very under rated live album.
Also heard a rumour about a Jan/Feb tour.

Closer to "Frantic" off the same albume I reckon mate.

As someone who has ZERO musical ability and experience, I reckon with many of Metallica's latest releases it's almost as though they're trying too hard to create new "classics" to rival their older ones.
