Wouldn't Duthy (he played for Fitzroy didn't he?) be better suited to Full back than Jameson, who could play anywhere else on the field practically, apart from the ruck.

I dont want to get pedantic here, but as a point of interest, was he actually recruited to the Crows from Glenelg or North..

I agree. The AFL Team of the Century was a wankfest. The greatest full forward in 100 years only played for 5 seasons, and the full back spent half his career playing elsewhere, and was rarely ever selected at full back for Victoria. Just illustrates what a futile exercise these teams are. Select a different panel, and the team would look entirely different.

Duthy didn't play AFL, only VFL or you'd be putting Hodgy and Weston in there too

or even T Symonds.... :D

From North.

He started with the Bays, then went to North, then got drafted, then went back to Glenelg.

One of the most mediocre footballers ever to pull on a boot.

When people mention Lucas Herbert I remember 3 things:
1) Him giggling and laughing after a loss and not seeming to care
2) Him being the only player Ive ever see to run away from the ball because the sun was in his eyes (happened at Alberton CHF Southern End, many will back me up on that)
3) Him being in a Bays side that got belted continuously by North, probably the only year we have ever done that since about 1930.

Anyway, back on track, the AFL team of all time has already been decided upon, decided by 119 points.

B: Tom Harley, Matthew Scarlett, Josh Hunt
HB: Andrew Mackie, Darren Milburn, David Wojcinski
C: Joel Corey, Jimmy Bartel, Corey Enright
HF: Steve Johnson, Cameron Mooney, Joel Selwood
F: Paul Chapman, Nathan Ablett, Mathew Stokes
FOLL: Brad Ottens, Cameron Ling, Gary Ablett Jr.
Interchange: Steven King, Shannon Byrnes, James Kelly, Max Rooke

I'm sure Port and Norwood would be able to fill AFl sides of equal or even better calibre...

Further to this (always good when you respond to yourself :D ) Paul Roos would have to be considered for any of those defensive roles IMHO

Disagreed, despite some good staging for free kicks at time I doubt either club would be able to put a good movie together with the Australian Film Institiute.

I think most SANFL clubs would have a fairly handy side in this regard

Port (from 1990 onwards) would be something like:

FF Didak, Waterhouse, S Bond
HF Lyle, Tredrea, T Bond
C Anderson, Bradley, Tregenza
HB Wilson, Leslie, McLeod
FB Wanganeen, D Wakelin, Mead

RUCK
Hynes
Bradley
Brown

I dont think Pickett, Scott Thompson or Enright made their A grade debut with Port before being drafted.

Waterhouse looks out of place in this side at full forward, but its late and i can't think of anyone more suitable without doing more research.

Hodges is better Clive - IMO GWW

And not playing a league game would preclude Gamble and Mackie in my Glenelg side

Maybe Mead before Leslie (who I rate, but IMO AFL exploists gives Meady the nod) and T. Bond before Fiora ... Hell I'd even put D.Brown ahead of Fiora (massively overrated IMHO).

Yeah i forgot about Mead (and Brown), although i'd still keep Leslie in the side. Its amazing how every time these sides are picked you just know you've left players out, and sure enough i did on this occasion.

Archer? Who is standing the 6'2 half forward? A drisgrace not to have Harvey in there also

Riccuito was a good player but not one of the best in the past 19 years...

Yeah my bad dutchy he was actualy written down on paper but for some reason I did not have him posted, must have had a few to many  , disagree on Riccuito in 1997 he was waltzing in the Brownlow until he had a herniated groin 2/3 the way through the season and did not play a game for the rest of the year. That would mean 2 brownlows, I am a crows fan but I rate him very highly not just with his footy skills but his leadership qualities.
