No i agree with you, and i'm sure there'd be plenty who would, Lofty should have dropped back a div when the going was tough. I don't understand why people think the divs have to remain stagnate with the same teams reamining year in year out. Why not drop back a div, re-load, get the confidence up with a few wins on the board and then have a crack at Div 1 again, similar to what Ironbank have done and what Birdwood are trying to do. When you have a multi-tiered comp, why the **** would you put up with getting flogged for so long...stubborness/egos of the board maybe. Saying I'm sick of playing shit sides was probably a bit off the mark, what i mean is that i just can't understand why a club would want to continue on in that vein.

As for Lobethal, if there was a relegation system they would go down, but they won't allow it under the current rules and fair enough, because knowing a few of the guys that play there i have no doubt that they won't remain cellar dwellers for long

The facilities suck, the seniors suck and the club's going no where. For the sake of 3 or four minutes in the car you'd be taking you kids to either Hahndorf or Lofty. The sooner Shante realise their second rate facilities can't support a club in the top league the better. Clubs have become so much more organised over the last four or five years, sponsorship $$$ can drive a club along way, but you need to get the basics right before you can get everything else running smoothly to become successful. I'm sick of playing such s***t sides all the time, a more even comp is what we need, and therefore in my opinion, a promotion/relegation system should be enforced. Having said that, I'm not silly enough to think it'll ever happen.

Your club was s***t too until about 4 years ago remember.......clubs can turn things around.

Do you honestly think Bridgewater are going to turn it around?

Nah good luck Ex and Widdo hope the boy's have a win for ya.

is Quinton Barnard playing in the farewell game or will his penis legs get stuck in the mud too much?

Skeletor - Yes they have got new doors actually - not because of Daniel Exelby's beautifully rounded satellite dishes though - think it was from Widdo trying to prove how tough he is!! Ha Ha. I know Ex is relieved to have finally got it out there & cannot wait to have one last hurrah at the thunderdome and have a good win & night. Brother of Daniel in the riverland (thats how all know of him anyway) is trying to entice him up to the riverland but I am sure no matter how many pairs of UNDIES Brother of Daniel puts on his head it will help - would be GOLD though thats for sure - would love to.
Bloody make sure Ex gets the result he wants or he will steal everyones girlgfriends saturday night.

Gotta disagree with you there mate. Not sure if you were around the club when we were shit in the A's, but all the signs of a turnaround were there. We'd just won something like 5 of the last 7 premierships at U17 level, the average age of players was about 19-20 and everyone knew that 3-4 good quality players in the spine would trun it around reasonably quickly. Coco did a great job off the field, plus bringing in KB was a masterstroke and with the 5 odd boys we brought in in '05, plus Burchy coming back, the stage was set.

Agree with you and others that Bridgy are at a totally different stage to where we were at - I really don't think they have the base to turn things around like we did. Div 2 would be a smart move for them, but shit for us because the derby is always great.

Exelby to Maccy. Well then did he resign or was he pushed? I couldn't see why he would leave Ironbank to go there, even if it was for cash, i would have thought Ironbank would be able to offer him more anyway.Would be a huge boost for Maccy, i guess it must be the Lallard connection. Bit of a **** on the field lallard but a genuine good bloke off it, and still has lots of mates from his southern days. perhaps maccy can turn it around.

Skeletor & OKO, life must be tough living so far apart & sharing the 1 brain... dunno how you blokes do it, judging from some of the posts on here it seems to be on a rotation basis hahaha

Just on D Ex's tenure coming to a halt, has done a more than decent job with the Thunderers & hopeful that the lads will fire up for him & cock all over the roosters 2moro... watch for him to be playing FF at some stage with all other forward line players outside the 50m arc... jeez he may even bless us with one of those screamers where he gets at least a foot off the ground (read: one of his feet). He's starting to remind me of Kevin Bartlett a bit actually, reckon he should grow the mullet at the back & he's a dead ringer :D just unfortunate that he cant kick goals (unless within 20 mtrs), will kick just a little further if you put a jam tin in front of him though... =D>

As for Wids, classic call on the sponsor work lads haha! He was amazing at Lofty last week, 4th quarter & still glowing under the afternoon sun... 41 other blokes looked like they'd returned from jungle warfare, but there's Widdo prancing around like a stork on the sand with those big twig legs keepin clean

In all seriousness, a couple of great blokes with something to play for tomorrow & the boys on the hill will get behind em & let em know all about it!!! GOOD LUCK HELMETS...

Haha funny speculation as soon as a coach becomes available... only happened last night with Exelby & have heard that already 3 clubs are chasing him... none of which are St Kilda (would somebody please tell him).

Surely Nairne job not up for grabs... what about Dicky Muncan, thought he was still signed on for next yr? Playing finals Sunday...

Well today D.Exelby finished up with Ironbank v Birdwood @ Ironbank. Oh and while I'm here thats me. To all the Ironbank lads today, thanks for giving me the best possible send off (without making finals that is) possible. Struggled early to Birdwoods credit - think they got a bit cocky early and thought competitive 1st quarter meant home and hosed. Had one of the most enjoyable last quarters I have ever had. Was all smiles all through - great time had for the playing group last round. Thank every Ironbank supporter, player for their support over the years - leave with no regrets - apart from this years ending prior to the last round(no finals again sucks). I leave content knowing I have given my 100% commitment from the day I joined. To all oponents in the Hills you tossers - cheers for the oppostition - most of you blokes probably think I'm a wanker but I appreciate & respect every opponent I have played against - except a few lets be honest.- especially the ones i nailed or kicked their arse. Great comp the Hills and Again - THANKS IRONBANK FOR THE RIDE -AND FORUM GO EASY ON ME - decided to blow my identity if I hadn't already - and am too smashed to really probably make sense - but also say goodbye to the Hills league as it has been great competition - opponents - & team mates. I have got to go now I have an appointment for the St.Kilda coaching job - Robert Harvey will play on as long as his son has both of my twin girls - and I am cool with that as long as they have a boy - can only produce good looking girls myself - SUPA SPERM- split one egg into 2 then swam again and nailed em both - THORPIES. GOOD LUCK TO ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR SIDES CONTESTING FINALS THIS YEAR> GO SAINTS
