I don't think it will be a silly thing for them to move down....it has happened to a few clubs over the years....ask nairne im sure they do not regret their decision, now playing most grades in finals this weekend. It defenatly boost the clubs moral and supporters come from the town to watch, instead of talking in a pub about what should happen.

Tanka wrote:I actually dont believe the argument that if Bridgewater drop down a div they will be better off. There are not enough junior teams in Country and even though they have not won too many in the last few years, I think it would be the start of the end of Bridgies if they drop back. The players that are going to leave will probably not hang around anyway so I am not sure what the advantage is. It is harder to recruit to the Country div and I think a few of the better younger players would leave the club so they can play every week in a better comp.

Am i right in sying that his 4 years is the longest stint a coach has had at Ironbank?
Maybe the return to the Marion Rams is on the cards? or will he look at joining his brother at Renmark next year?
I was also told that Widdo has retired aswell!
By all reports his massive heart couldn't cope with another year of pressure!!!
Just what i was told, i'm just passing it on.

Dashin wrote:Beginning of the end??? Bridgewater are already at the end, if they don't do something they're gone. If you were a parent why would you send your kids to Bridgie? The facilities suck, the seniors suck and the club's going no where. For the sake of 3 or four minutes in the car you'd be taking you kids to either Hahndorf or Lofty. The sooner Shante realise their second rate facilities can't support a club in the top league the better. Clubs have become so much more organised over the last four or five years, sponsorship $$$ can drive a club along way, but you need to get the basics right before you can get everything else running smoothly to become successful. I'm sick of playing such s***t sides all the time, a more even comp is what we need, and therefore in my opinion, a promotion/relegation system should be enforced. Having said that, I'm not silly enough to think it'll ever happen.
