Not sure exactly why. The footy club has been trying trying to get them involved for years. I think existance of the Port Elliot and Goolwa netball clubs makes it a little difficult for Willunga to just slot into the GSNA. This year Willunga has a few sides filling spots that Port Elliot cant.

It makes it tough for Willunga families having to go to different places on Saturdays. A lot of the Willunga players have partners playing netball at McLaren Vale so they can be part of the GSNA.

Everyone has Bad Blood with the Bays. They are one of the clubs the canteen girls told me, who spend nothing at the canteen when they play at our oval and Willunga are the other.

Hams + Baxter + Portlock = Huge canteen takings! Who am i to throw stones

Last year not one person from the bays came into the saints rooms for a drink after . It was a direct message from their coach . The saints have it written in their book that all players are expected to go in for a soft drink or a beer . I would expect all clubs to do this and not to is disrespectful . Will be entering the bays clubrooms after saturdays game no matter what .

Thats right skinner, it is country footy and no matter how hard the game is played on field you always have a beer together after the game. It is an unwritten law.

Last year the saints were told not to come in and have a drink at Pongy over a few words between players & coaches. Weak as piss i say. Thats one thing pongy can never be questioned about :drinkers: :partyman:

Yes now you say that, I remember last year when Myponga came into the club for a drink... it was one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen after a game... lots of joking around and fun.

O:)

From what I have seen over a number of years
Most clubs, and players do enjoy going into opposition clubrooms after a game.(especially after a win)

umpires even if they have been abused all day DO STAY AND HAVE A DRINK.....and then get questioned again about every "BAD DECISION
Good on them.

PS in talking to them they will pay a free for over the shoulder..even if the player ducks into a tackle...I don't agree but that is what the instruction is.
Unfortunately when we have club representatives doing the reserves this is not happening which creates another inconsistancy.

Many happy returns A MUM....hope you all went out for dinner or at least the boys did the dishes for you.
What did the better half give you
My guess the naughty forties may have just been reached :D

What was said was not acceptable WOW . Popey took the stance that the club didn't need to be talked about that way . An isolated case and this year everyone went in for a drink after the game .

LF & i were very close to what was said (possibly involved) & i didnt think it was much. Getting called inbread ferals is bugger all. If Pongy took offense to that, they wouldnt drink at any club
Over the years the saints have never had big numbers come in and have a drink but it sounds like your changing that.

If thats Right then it makes a Good case to have all matches umpired by club Reps cos it seems they are umpiring using their basic common sense rather than to what the full time umps are being instructed to do.

In my time in footy i have been called all the names under the sun but have still persisted in going into oppostion clubs for a drink afterwards, good footy teams are made around people who earn respect, nothing more intimidating to opposition club than having 20 or more footballers from the team that has played and beaten them in their own club drinking and socialising, youll probably find that some successful clubs do this, as for the Bays dont think being sociable is in their club criteria, townie footballers just grab the cash and run.Ill have my tips done tommorow with a mail medal betting odds update a fair bit money is on Maxfield,Hams And O.Love :D

Yeah sorry I did forget that one Skinner, but I had no choice on that one as I left straight after the game and went to hospital, I was actually in the bed next to your team mate! But I do know that game didn't really finish on the best terms, but that is no excuse from my point of view. I think sometimes what happens on the field gets taken off the field and in some ways you can't blame people. For example I could probably guess that no one from the Bays went into the McLaren Vale clubroom for a beer after their last encounter, yet the year before we did and the chances are next year they probably will too.

I would also like to point out that after the GSFL v RMFL there were very few, maybe three (one is an alcoholic so take him out! ) GSFL footballers who actually hung around in the Strath clubrooms for a beer with the RMFL players which had about half the squad stay for a few.

Dont speak about Andy Mcdonald like that! He is doing his best to slow down his drinking and gradually hes working thru it.

I agree, footy is about a good hard contest and then a few beers afterwards and burying the hatchet. Obviously if theres things like what happened at Mclaren Vale i wouldnt have gone in afterwards either, nor wanted them in my club if the shoe is on the other foot.

Id put Hams' odds up Jelom, he hasnt been invited for the medal, just the goalkicking.

Don't be fooled Hamsy! When Randall Follett won the medal in 2006 he got an invitation to attend to receive his life membership.. the League executive can be cunning at times.

Strathalbyn have not come into the opposition clubrooms for 2 weeks in a row. Against Victor the week before not one player came in there by all reports and Saturday they did the same. Sounds like a culture change at the Roosters, because they use to be very good. Not good Strath, clubs rely on each other and it did embarass a couple of former players on the weekend in the Bay club.
Cuzzy, you are talking porkies on this forum if you are saying Bass is coaching in 2009, because he is telling everyone at the club he is gone and you know that!
