Well done
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

I'll have to agree with the Dutchman on this.
Also, we have had a fantastic return to form this year, owing to the personnel now down at Unley, and the exceptional leadership of MacGowan. I am sure that if you asked him why we have done so well this year he'd praise the playing group and personnel around him, and we shouldn't forget that either. He's found a spark that has ignited the whole club this season, but it still the players that have gone out and put in the quality, gutsy performances on the field this year.
This conversation has started to worry me, so I just wanted to suggest a bit of perspective.
I'd hate to see us get ahead of ourselves after such a great start to the year. The real football begins at the end of the minor round, so far all Sturt has done is manage to surprise the sh1t out of most people. We are still on a learning curve and could be in for some rude shocks in the coming weeks if we lose the attitude that has brought us this far.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Come on .....

Don't start saying stuff like that .... if Sturt fall over from here because they are happy with what they have achieved in 15 rounds and don't make the most of this great opportunity then the season could not be called a success. 2007 can either be looked at like an over-achievement or as showing up 2006 as a huge disappointment. Prob somewhere in the middle.

You never know when the window will open and close so you must make the most of opportunities like Sturt have this year.

I have sensed this POV coming out in some Sturt supporters as the season goes - like excuses are being made already for an expected late season fade-out,.

To me, Sturt are real contenders in 2007. 2006 should be ignored when assessing how the season unfolds from here.

On the contrary Hondo, I fully expect Sturt to be playing deep into september. I certainly wasn't making excuses in case we lose from here on. I am just surprised by our form this year, it's better than I expected & most other teams supporters expected, most had us pegged for the wooden spoon this year. Most of us couldn't complain if we get some finals action if we didn't expect to.

Having met Rick on several occasions I can only say he's a genuinely nice guy who has total respect by all at Unley :) :)

Sturt were favourites to win the wooden spoon by many people on here and also in the Media before the 2007 Season began.

An assistant jobs in the AWFUL awaits him but I only hope we can win a Premiership before he gets a well-deserved promotion 8)

One has to feel sorry for Rick's dad, who was a one eyed North supporter up until Rick made his debut with CD (the name of the property on the Eyre Peninsula, was derived from North's greatest ever player). During Rick's career he converted to the Bulldogs, now the last year and a bit he's on the Double Blues bandwagon.

You obviously haven't worded that very well GWW. Yes, I do feel sorry for him that he supported North and then made another blunder in changing to Centrals but at least he's on the right track now.

222 Games with Centrals would suggest he was there longer than a couple of years!

And he spent 12 months at the Eagles coaching their reserves side with Luke Norman...

Dont feel sorry for him..... he is obviously proud of his sons achievements, as any dad would.

I didn't mean it in a serious way, although it may have come across that way, just making the point he's had a few decisions over there years as to whether or not he was to change the club he supports.
