Needing another goal scoring option in the second half the Warriors threw Pauly Van der Woude into the fray - and the pint sized punter didn't let us down.
Two goals to the good.
Look for a game breaking effort in this week's first semi-final!

Other things to come out of the weekend:

The Warriors are giving Dion Madden a GPS after he scored 1.6
'Barry' White will now be our key rucking option.
After the game ALL of the East Murray blokes were very keen to wish us luck this weekend against Lyrup.
And 'Bob' Francis signed off with a guard of honour in his final game for the Tigers - a legend of Independent football.

Meanwhile, why is it that East Murray never comes out to have a drink with the opposition after the game? They stay in their changerooms forever those boys, what sort of shenanigans are going on in there??????

PS: Killer Wasps, met your dad on the weekend. He came over for a chat after the match. Twas nice to have a chat with him.

Don't follow indy much but am I missing something with the pauly bit

Question...

Why is there 2 different league in the Riverland - RFL % Independants?

Would it be a stronger league if it was all combined??

Riverland has 5 grades - A grade, B grade, under 18s, under 15s and under 13s.
The Independents only have 2 grades - A grade and under 17s.

While it would be great to merge them, there just aren't enough numbers for the Independent clubs to fill all those grades.
Especially the Mallee clubs, who are struggling to get numbers for 2 grades.
I'd love to see a 13-team comp rather than a 6-team comp though.

Keller has a sore leg from the arse kicking he handed out last week.

I'm tipping Renmark to get up in the big one, would love to see a grand final with both teams at full strength.

I'm also suggesting Ryan Bennett have another crack at League footy.

I doubt Bennett would.
From talking to him he seems quite content playing footy for the Rovers.
Has a solid job and is just enjoying footy with his mates.
That's not to say clubs haven't been trying to lure him!

I would love to see him go back and play league footy again.

His body is holding up now but i think the employment thing may pose the problem.
Has a good job and may not be able to find another like it in town.

A long way to travel if you are going to train and play unless you move.

I guess we will find out soon but i would doubt that he will go back to the bloods if he did, i think ex would be giving North and the bays a call about him first.

Interesting.
Schubey's shown you can have a break from the system for a while and get back into it successfully.
Would be nice to see Ryan do the same.
