Southern have this system in place where 3 or 4 clubs share the canteen duties on GF day and get the takings from that.

A few years ago Langhorne Creek won a GF at Yankalilla. I think it was about an hour and a half on the bus but we didn't care. When you're playing a final I don't think it makes a huge difference if you're travelling 20 mins, 40 mins or an hour. No matter where you have it there's going to be clubs travelling further than others. It's good to see every club get the chance to showcase their town, oval and facilities once a decade on Grand Final day.
