Big effort by Feast to bring up his 200th game this week against Port Magpies.

Sturt FC are a remarkable club, particularly given the number of players they have notch up big milestones in recent times...seems to be one of those clubs where players go, and stay a long time...

Congratulations Feasty.

Great sentiments TB.
Well done on a terrific post.

Agreed, I'm weighing up whether to use a bit of it as a new signature but decided not to since the original post was genuinely honest and cynicism free. You OK TB?

Depends on which of my many personalities is at the keyboard at the time. Take it how you like...I have nothing but admiration for the Sturt FC for its ability to retain players long-term...Feast is a player that I always thought about when I knew the Bays were coming up against the Double Blues...such was his importance to the Double Blues for many years...

Well done Feasty on what has so far been a great career.
What I'll always remember about him in 2007 is the greater percentage of games we won when he was on the field. His influence on the game has always been huge.
As Spelly said, he was a member of that winless crop of youngsters that made up the 1995 side that a broke SFC put on the field, for a season where no one wanted to coach, except for Phil Carmen. Since then he played a huge part in lifting the club to the postion of regular finalist, and premiers. All of this following the year where everybody said we'd fold or merge, has made Feast somewhat of a personification of the heart of the SFC in recent times IMO.

Great post Tiger Boss.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Looks like Noarlunga...IIRC South never played at Panther Park just used it for a training base.....

Thought it was Footy Park.

it is Definitely Noarlunga. as there are 3 more pics of Feasty with the same hairstyle. and South players are in the frame too. must have been in the very early days of South moving there.

Well done Feasty, what a great player he's been for Sturt, hope he plays on for another year if he feels up to it. The way he can drop back for a contested mark is a vital part of his game, you can see it happening a mile off....love it. During the victory lap in the '02 GF I put my hand out for a high 5 but he grabbed it and almost pulled me over the fence. What a club man, good luck Feasty.

How did Feast go in his 200th? Did the Double Blues have a banner for him to run through?

Any pictures from anyone at the game?

Sensational picture Lizzy...

Good to see that no Port fans threw their empty stubby bottles at Feasty during the chair-off...

Well done to Uncle Fester :) . A good effort by the big fella to make it to 200 games.

A question for spelly. How many players have Sturt had reach 200 games whilst at the club this decade? It seems like, as TB said, that they have been able to hold onto so many for so long lately.

The players who have reached 200 matches for Sturt in the 2000s are: Bruce Lennon, Chris Threadgold, Andrew Geddes, Tim Weatherald and Simon Feast.

I can have a go at that one, the info is in the trusty media guide
Thredgold, Lennon, Geddes, Weatherald and Feast
also had Woosnam, Atkinson and Squire play their 200th SANFL game while with Sturt

That's almost perfect timing. Look at Herrings left arm, same. Look at Cubillo's left arm, same. Fittock and Bentley's hands are apart and touching in the 2 photos, they're a couple of seconds apart. I should be on CSI.

I thought Matty Powell got to 200 too, or did he only get as far as 150?

I thought there was a fair few. Not many clubs can boast about having so many long serving players and players that have had that much sanfl experience. We helped Woosy get there though  . How many have Westies had in the same period Spelly? I can only think of Paul Patterson if that was this decade :-k . I think Tim Symes reached the high 190's but didn't get to 200.

I think part of Centrals recent success is that they have had a few seasoned veterans consistantly play at the club over an extended period of time, like the Double blues as mentioned. Here's a few that reached 200, some retired now and others that might make it to 200 or possibly just fall short with impending retirements...

Brian Haraida 268
Rick Macgowan 222
Damien Arnold 181
Damien Hicks 181
Matthew Slade 180
Chris Gowans 165
Adam Switala 161
James Gowans 160
Heath Hopwood 158
Marco Bello 147
Paul Geister 142
Nathan Steinberner 140
