Mmm... was thinking about cheating and changing my tips above to be more accurate !!

I was shocked to see that Willunga A grade only won by 26 points... I would have thought the margin to be much, much bigger than this. I do see they kicked alot of points though - so just not accurate around goals it would appear.

Good day all round for McLaren's this weekend, especially with a great win to 'our' McLaren Senior Colts yesterday to beat the top side in Mt Compass, came out to play as a team this week, was really good to watch. Well done boys :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend O:)

The Senior Colt puzzle has now become a lot clearer after yesterdays round with the Saints and E.Bay now unlikely to make the 5. The Saints played a terriffic game against the Creeks yesterday to keep their finals chances alive but faltered late in the game after leading at 3/4 time. Bad luck fellas but unfortunately 7 into 5 just doesn't go.
With Mt.Compass losing yesterday, Top spot is now up for grabs with Strath Challenging and currently on top by % just ahead of Mt.Comp and the Creeks.
My Top 5 prediction with Premiership odds are -
1/ Mt.Compass $3.20
2/ Strathalbyn $3.25
3/ Lang. Creek $3.25
4/ McClaren $9.00
5/ Willunga $9.00

'A' Grade
1/ Willunga $1.07
2/ Strathalbyn $11.00
3/ Lang. Creek $13.00
4/ Mt. Compass $67.00
5/ E. Bay $26.00

heard victor is shopping for a new coach after sauce quit last thursday, this sat will be his last game he coaches at the club. Bays beat strath in a thriller yesterday was a great game and was decided by a few points. Both teams have chances in the last quarter where they could have kicked ahead but didnt convert. Interesting to see the willunga / myonga game, although willunga won they didnt in as bigger margin as most would have expected.

I was at the Creek on saturday and seen the Snr colts game from the start, what a game!! Both sides shared the lead during the first three qtr's and just when you thought one side was about to run away with it the other side would get a couple quick ones and be back in contention if not the lead. Creeks were able to get away at the start of the last and hung on to record a great win and make it pretty much impossible for the saints to make the 5 now! Saints were again with out their key on baller and I was told he has not played the last 4 games and is a big reason for the saints fall off the pace, unfourtunatly for the saints they dont have the depth to cover such a key ball winner. Once again Luke Cussins for the creeks was exelent and Tom Jhonson up forward was very strong and showed he has grown with the A grade chances he has had this season.
I am tipping Creeks for the flag in this grade, they refuse to say die and play with alot of passion and heart that come September will only grow. Bad luck to a very young Saints side that only has 4 going up next season I think all sides in the top 5 will be thankfull your not in September action.

Not too sure how many game he got for it but if it was 14 weeks then he deserved it.

The McLaren player was hit from behind, three teeth were bent back as they were only held in by braces.
The dentist bill is in the thousands of dollars.
Goolwa didnt turn up to the tribunal but people from McLaren did.
The incident was also caught on video.

Any chance of getting the incident on youtube?

Great game at the Bay on Saturday and if that is any indication of the finals series we will have this year then we are in for an exciting month. Philp was brilliant in ruck and Owen Love would have to have polled 3 votes. He was everywhere and his kicking would be the best in the league.

I doubt very much you'll see it on You Tube. Too serious/stupid incident to watch and have people laugh at... (Which I'm sure now probably even the player regrets doing).

But does anyone know any outcome yet... (ie saints people)... how many weeks for the guilty player??

Tribunal will be heard this tuesday for the Saints Senior Colt in question. I would put the video on you tube. It will need to be viewed for tribunal purposes anyway if the player is to receive the maximum number of games he deserves. I am sure that if it is used at the tribunal we will get a copy and see it anyway. if it doesn't get seen the Saints player will get a 2 week ban because the GSFL tribunal is weak in handing out sentences (if your offence gets to the tribunal). Remember that the evidence will be coming from the McLaren Football Club rather than the field umpire so it wont have as much pull.

Thanks for the reply LF.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see the outcome after Tuesday.

The Saints player must have struck the McLaren player because of the injury he sustained, however I think you will find that both players came from the ground with the blood rule so it seems that they both had a go. The Saints player wore a mouthguard it would be interesting to know if the McLarens player was. Generally its hard to knock teeth out with a correctly moulded guard from the dentist. (not condoning striking) In a separate incident in this match a Saints player had a tooth put through his tongue so this was not an isolated situation in this match. As for how many weeks the Saints player got, this is yet to be decided. The player in question could not attend the tribunal beacuse he was in hospital in surgery. See gsfl.com.au where it mentions the non attendance at the tribunal.

I am sorry Luvs Footy but i am from neither of these two clubs but i was at the game watching a nephew play under 14s and while he was showering after his game i was watching the 17s. This incident happened right in front of me and i am sorry it was discusting. I was unaware of the outcome of the McLaren player and after reading this thread i hope he is ok because it did not look good.

The McLaren player and another player were having a little push and shove with nothing in it just a couple of boys in the heat of the moment. THEN the #14 from Saints game running up from behind and forarmed the McLaren player right in the mouth with some serious power. The McLaren boy was shocked and turned to see where he had been hit from in which the Saints player gave him another smack in the GOB.

It was completely unprevoked and way beyond the laws of the game, and i hope the young boy from McLarens' teeth are ok.

Anyway enough of that, i just want to introduce myself i am new to this site and i have a son that plays mini colts at Mt Compass.

So your from Compass, does your nephew play at Mclaren or Saints mate?
What area of the ground was the strike from the Saints player? Was it in front of the club rooms? If you were waiting for your nephew to shower and it was infront of you I am just woundering if you were waiting infront of the club rooms, if so then a fair few people would have seen the strike.

dont apologise to me I am not sticking up for the Saints player. If you committ the crime you do the time. I am just saying that if the video, which clearly highlights the incident is not produced, the league will be soft and hand out a token gesture punishment because its not a report coming from one of the umpires in charge of the match. Its quite simple. Show the video and the kid will get the penalty he deserves.

What a joke. Finals can not be played at Compass or Myponga if this rain continues. Get VH and Yank ovals on the agenda. By the way Limb, whats the go out at the Creek with all those exposed sprinkler heads? In this the day and age of legal action I would hate to think of the consequences if someone got injured from one of those.
