Winners:

south v Freel
Willaston v Nuri
Barossa v Tan
Kap V Centrals

Going for Barossa over Tanunda due to the injury list at the Blockies. The Bombers to show GC that they will take out 3rd place. Some talk around that the Nuri tigers may want to bring the Bomber Prouse home.

Tips for this week
South gawler to Beat Freeling 25 to 30 points
Nuriootpa to Beat Willaston by 5 to 10 points
Tanunda to beat Barossa by 10 to 15 points
Gawler central to beat Kapunda by 20 to 25 points
Sometimes the old guys do know whats best

So who do you think the candidates for each coaching position will be?

Will Scott Leal get another gig (rightly so) at a rival club... say South Gawler?

Will current league players return to their old clubs for a poisition (Sibenaler) perhaps bringing with him a suite of experienced premiership players?

Will Prowse go back to tiger land?

How much money will the new freeling coach command? Surely they will be wanting to carry on their recent trend in attracting someone of stature with a group of players behind them. Perhaps they will poach Greg Phillips from Virginia?

Alot of questions arise...
Tim Clarke was the #1 player in the AFL

A lot of questions indeed Edgar. Prouse is not stupid I think you will find that he will stay on at Kapunda, that side will have real potential with some quality imports. Nuri & Freeling are trying to get him but the base squad at Bomber land is ageing but is better than the other 2. Scott Leal you would think will take up a postion in the amutauer league, he may find it hard to clear a lot of the Freeling players to South. Good luck to Scott Lee, he has not had a lot of success there but is a good bloke who has saved the tigers from announcing any bad news, show his character.

Well then if that's the way you want to play the game, the game was a fantastic game, especially considering the conditions. Why was it played at Williamstown again? Anywho, Barossa got the jump on Tanunda, same as they did in the first round. For the first half of the game all the scoring was done at one end of the ground, Tanunda goal less in the first quarter and Barossa goal less in the second from memory with the scores almost tied away at half time. Without bagging the umps, would suggest it probably wasn't the best performance I have witnessed, but maybe conditions palyed a part in that too. Obviously they are the two best umpiresin our assocaition at the moment, or your would suggest that be the case having been given the 1st V 2nd game. Second half turned into a really good game or hard slog footy, nothing too pretty about it but two sides showing why they are 1 and 2 on the ladder. Tanunda eventually got in front and just managed to hang on in the dying seconds to win by 5 points. Even if they umpires got a bit confused and didn;t hear the siren even though players had already shaken hands?? Tanunda with the win, probably came out on front, especially with the number of players out, underwood and bignell would have been handy in the mud. Barossa with a full squad?? Both sides will be looking for a harder surface this week and then to freshen up the legs in the week off before they face each other at Kapunda.

I hope your function went well JD, what was the occasion? Billy bob, must have had mud in your eyes, it was JD's twin! Skipper did you get to the Tan V Bar game, wondering if you spotted JD in the crowd? Arge was running all over the place trying to get as many pictures as possible ready for the Finals baracker editions i reckon. Stay cool calm and collected fellas and have agreat week!

Blockie did not go to any games on the weekend, I went Clay Pigeon shooting instead, luckily there was no dirty stuff as it could get ugly when opposing teams are whelding shotguns. Have only spoken to a Barossa fan who siad it was a cracker of a game with both sides playing very hard tough footy with the number of scoring shots summing up the game (both even). He was not disapointed in the result, actually thought you guys where just that little bit classier. Barossa maybe a bit worried though with you blockies still nowhere near full strength. Also heard the GC & Bomber game was a really good hitout with the better side getting over the line.

P.S JD I hope the Beef & Reef night was a success, I'm sure some good Barossa reds where consumed. Just curious to know what the crowd was like considering you guys had the bye, always hard to keep the players around on the bye weekend. Not having a go at you just interested to see a club is holding a function on the bye weekend, good way to increase revenue on a write off weekend for most clubs.

It was a great night skip with a full house including many players, I wasn't sure about the timing either but it worked fine plus it made it so much easier to run as we had workers available during the day to set up

best two umpires, i hope not that little bald is terrible and has been for years now, i must say from seeing the game first hand even though the blockies got the win i wouldve thought it was much of a concern. it was the first time i have seen them play though. i did notice that taylor ex centrals league player was missing for barossa so he could nulify the outs for BD. good game though.
