that Marty Mattner goal does it for me, I was sitting in the members right behind Marty when he kicked it and he was never going to miss and we were never going to lose after that

I thought this thread was about "moments", not entire games, or seasons, etc. :?

I thought they never played on each other very much, if at all. The North and Port fans will correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought we ascertained they rarely stood each other.

Spot on A Hawk, rarely matched up on each other.
The only time i remember was North v Port in 1971 at Prospect near the end of the minor round, we got killed , both played outstanding games wide of each other, Fos Williams reckons Ebert shaded Baz on the day, mmm, I can honestly say I never saw Robran play a bad game.
They won the battle that day but we ultimately won the war(s) come the last day in September
Robran BOG in both Grand Finals.

Too many to list, but at the top of my head, the Ben Moore goal late in the final vs. Sturt in the 2007 season is something I'll remember for a long while, and the Sudjai Cook mark at Footy Park in the 1999 finals series was a ripper.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?

Ok Geddes bump on Brown, Sturt v Port during a final, early 2000's, and who did Eddie Hocking jump up to punch in the face while playing for the crows

Damian Monkhorst. For calling Eddie a "little black spear chucker".

I thought it was James Manson...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Thinking we were done in the 84 1st Semi v the Dogs, then a Roberts goal was followed by a beautiful running goal from David Payne about 15 seconds later and the place went nuts and we were off to the Prelim the following week ... Another game when we seemed to be down and out midway through the 3rd but a few special Aish moments got us over the Bays.

The GF that year, well I could fill this board with moments from it.

The All-in brawl and Brenton Maynard hanger from a game at the Parade in 88, 2nd half vs an all-conquering Port team last minor round of 1989 (they'd manhandled us a bit the 5 or 6 games prior).

Plenty of Darren Jarman moments - in the 97 Prelim when the Crows were coming hard, Ill never forget the grab he took ... The winning goal from the same goal - His GF goals the following week and year and performances in state games.

THAT Daicos goal in the tied final with the West Coast Eagles.

Being only 25, and having had supported South for about 15, sadly there havent been too many :?

Obviously is has to be:

Elimination final in 2006 8)

To be 38 pts down in warm conditions, against a seasoned finals team, in our first final in 14 years, and to get up and win= :D

I've never heard such a crowd reaction to a South goal than when Ellis put us back in front late in the 3rd. Granted, there would have been a lot of dogs/roosters supporters backing us, but still.

Can't remember the year, but it was this century, North v Port @ Adelaide oval, opening bounce, the ball comes out of the centre towards the members side, Damon White gets the ball on the wing and unloads with an almighty torp, straight through the middle, the biggest goal I've seen live and Port hadn't even touched the ball yet.

No worries, I yield to your collective memories. My memory of AFL happenings is cloudy at best. However I'm certain that the sledge had something to do with spear chucking.
