Because Cicca is a legend even on one leg he goes in hard for the ball .Coaching staff Admin well say no more except they have lost direction .Head coach does not appear at club functions etc leaves duties to Mark Jeffries .Not good enough .Of course this may have changed since I was told that info

If the club wants a full-time coach they should pay him a full-time wage, otherwise they allow him to be excused from some events. This seems to make sense to the Eagles but not some of their supporters.

You also say they have lost direction - perhaps they know exactly where they are going and some supporters just don't agree with that direction because they don't fully understand it. Seek first to understand, then to be understood - seems too many want it the other way around.

Oh whats the matter CCL , did some serious facts & intense debate throw you that much ; is that all you can say when it comes to the subject of OUR club , a 4 word reply ? I suggest you look in the mirror & harden up , its football not fuzzball , & if you have played at any respectible level then you would realise success is often the result of hard decisions made prior .

Now why are you trying to put words into my mouth SMAC.
Ron is a legend but I think its time for a change.
Funny you say he has won half our Flags Ron is getting treated a lot better than BRUCE WINTER did when his time was up. Thats just IMHO.

Not sure about this I think the direction Ron wants is very hard with more juniors than older players.

Holden78

did you make the effort to get close to the coaches box or interchange bench to have a listen of what goes on?

then you might get your facts right!

or put in for the coaches job

or put in for the ceo job

or put in for a seat on the board

or can't you do that due to inexperience or lack of qualifications?

your the one who says Sam Fairclough can't play but he is a premiership player at the age of 17

the coach can't coach but he's a league & under 17 premiership coach

the board has no direction but has delivered us finals after finals in recent years

yeah something is really wrong at oval avenue

go barrack for south then you would have something to whinge about!

CCL , answer the challenge of fact ; any goose can listen at the bloody coaches box & Ive played at the level ffs ! Applying for jobs at the club ( yes or no ) is my point here ! You do go on adnauseam . And you obviously agree the recruiting by Ron the last 2 years has been laughable , as you love to forget to mention it in his publicity releases so eloquently produced in his honour .
holden78 wrote:CCL I noticed you ignored my challenge of fact from last week , so Im assuming you dont know or cant be bothered finding out . If either is the case , you might have a think about not being such a sheep & consider more carefully just why I & others criticise quite heavily at times ! David Sabine & the last 2 years recruiting performance are two classic cases of inadequate & unexceptable efforts from those who run our club ! Ron had coached his last game with us if we lost in 06 GF . Does one game change absolutely everything for the foreseeable future ; does it not hide our past failures , and arent we seeing this now ! Ill send you a private message if you ask nice ?
holden78 wrote:Well said Big Phil , at least your team had the class to do the business on the weekend , & dont they hate you for it ! Now CCL you know very well that its a closed shop , & most years there are no elections due to no nominations . No one fancies working with that lot on the board mainly due to being given very little say in anything football ( onfield ) related . Remember what they did to Sabine ? If you dont then take the time to find out & you might be very suprised my friend ! History is filled with those who were persecuted for being in the minority & its not white anting if its the truth ! ! ! !

Ive been waiting for weeks and weeks until something totally reliable has been passed onto me re Fuller , the Board & our half arsed attempt of recruiting in the last two years . Now for the quick history lesson.......... Jarrod Wright , Twomey , Gogell , McEntee , Malinowski , Biagi , Couch , Mackie , Corbett , Miles , D. Roberts & Elliot . Thats the list that was presented to the members at the start of this season , as recruits ! I ll leave it to your opinion of them as you already know how pissed of I am with some of that lot ( not all ) . The year prior we only have Schwarz & Rimmington .................................. Now heres the rub , my gut feel on this has been proven to be wrong ! Yeh I was wrong ! I thought Ron was comfortable in regards to this obvious second rate attempt at recruiting to have a genuine crack at the flag . WRONG ! My source is so pure I cant say otherwise Ill get burnt for good . The power players on the board basically tied Fullers hands financially , & Ron instead of fighting the point has just worked within the straight-jacket position to the best of his ability . Now we can debate many points from here ie. Why didnt he fight the fight from a position of strength , having just won a flag . Why be miles ahead in paying off Port Rd. & be the same distance off winning another flag . The Board have obviously taken advantage of giving Fuller little funding in his early years coaching & figure he will still over achieve in this far more competitive era of SANFL , & their being proved wrong ! My source tells me Ron has been planning for a few months already for next year ( recruiting ) & selective is the operative word .So two final points from me ..........I GOT IT WRONG & those tight arsed fools couldnt back up a premiership coach with the players to do it again & again , how Ron must envy Jarhead occasionally & the backing hes had ! Wake Up Eagles Board !!

As a Membership Director, I don't think that is a "power player" position. And if he knows the details, he is in no position to share thoughts or facts, for the same reason.

Well Mr Holden it shows strength to admit you were wrong.

As in life you play with the cards you get dealt or you leave the table.

Obviously Ron has decided to play and he/we haven't yet seen the river card in season 08.

You don't win a premiership if you can't coach
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

Still no excuses for Fuller though IMO. He's had the pieces of the jigsaw and hasn't been able to fit them together this year. Interesting post by holden78 - goes to show the success of a footy club goes deeper than players and coach. Still require hindsight to see if those decisions are correct or not. Who's to say the check book out is going to fix anything or make the club any better on field. What would be nice to know though, is that everyone is pulling in the same direction.

He is one of the board of directors, but what I am getting at is he wouldn't be in a posititon given his role in the club to be the huge influence in making those particular decisions. Neither would he be able to disclose such information like that as part of his role - I would imagine such information would be left to the CEO.
