Simon Feast notches up 200

Postby TigerBoss » Wed Aug 13, 2008 7:56 pm

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it wasn't on the Sturt vs. Port preview thread.

Big effort by Feast to bring up his 200th game this week against Port Magpies.

Sturt FC are a remarkable club, particularly given the number of players they have notch up big milestones in recent times...seems to be one of those clubs where players go, and stay a long time...

Congratulations Feasty.

Fair call TB, great effort indeed, especially seeing he spent a few years interstate and has not been without injury setbacks over the years, well done big fella and good luck to him on the weekend.

A harsh thing to bring up in such a "positive" thread, but how different could Sturt's year have ended had he slotted through that late shot on goal in the finals match last season?

Then again, the Blues at the time had a long-standing hoodoo against the Eagles, so may well have lost anyway, but it is unfortunately for Feasty, one of the things I now think of when I think of Simon Feast.

Nearly finished up at Murray Bridge club Ramblers, too, if it wasn't for a Sturt official being friendly with Feast's family.

Well done Feasty on 200 games...

Not known for his great skills but has a big ticker and gives it his all everytime he pulls on that Double Blue jumper...

Big effort by the Big man, especially with all the hassles the body has given him over time, congratulations to the number 26...

A real champion of the SFC. Up there with the best big men I've seen play SANFL. Will be missed when he retires but hopefully Kurtze can develop into a good replacement...

Is that Noarlunga in the picture?

An idea of his endurance at SANFL level is that he and Ben Nelson are the only two players left at Sturt who played in that winless season of 1995. Tim Weatherald is of course at Norwood.

I reckon it is Hickinbothan Oval, Noarlunga Spelly... I was going to ask the same question, obviously South weren't still at Panther Park then...

Agreed, I'm weighing up whether to use a bit of it as a new signature but decided not to since the original post was genuinely honest and cynicism free. You OK TB?

Thought it was Footy Park.

I took a closer look at a couple of ruck contests on the weekend, because it's always amazed me how much strength the bloke has, and he's get a fair set of trunks* on him ... Bit like Spider Everett in his hey day, many opposition ruckmen have bigger builds above the torso, the leg strength is incredible.
