Do you mean burgess oval because that is extremely flat and level alot better than compass i think they play soccer there though, Im currently in discussions with the league to have it transferred to pongy So that a: some of us can learn to swim.
b: the new granstand will be in place
c:From what King Kenas says I might be able to try out my new
Jetski for half time entertainment
d: it might make for a close GF
e: Theres plenty of wood around for a Bonfire

Also apparently all clubs have received an email regarding cushioning on interchange benches cos poor old Jelom has sore A..e.
A mum or King Kenas can you help me here who is the bold idiot doing mudslides at 3/4 time of the Bs at pongy and is it true he may have thought it was full time YOU IDIOT.

I know that even South's oval got chopped up, especially in the centre. I don't think they were allowed to train on it last night.

Hey Roo32 I dint get many tips right on the weekend Ill have to redeem myself this week, wasnt at any games on the weekend due to a medical condition previously disclosed on another post, as for mudslides I wouldnt get that dirty and plus the league has made it a rule any more mudslides and there will be reports this childish behavour isnt tolerated and can only contribute to the chopping up of the oval.
Was just on my way back to Victor when i got stuck behind a bunch of idiots in a bus Chucking browneyes when i went to pass they gave me a verbal spray and there he was Mitch portlock and the demons waving the McCRACKen Cup at me,they got training at the golf course,Just remember BJ it is only august.Cuzzy they are as bad as you guys give em a cup they think they own the world.

what does the team that wins the premiership get at the end of the year? i mean they get the cup and the bragging rights and the pride and ultimate joy of winning one but does the club get any finacial gain.

If so willunga should use the money from the last four finals wins to get a s%$t load of sand and build up the bottom side of their oval.

I personally dont really care where the grand final is played it wont be a home team advantage so both clubs will be up agaisnt what ever the ground is like. Bays played at compass earlier in the year after a week of rain and the ground held up really well. I think it is important for the gf to be shared around as this is a big day for the club who holds it finacially.

then they would need to build a new grandstand 'cos the existing one would be entirely underground! i've been told the roof of the grandstand at willunga is at the same level as the top wing!

Not sure on financial gains for winning flag cuzzy but the reason for the oval at willunga being on such a slope is due subsidence at a rate of approx.300mm a year. The oval was built on a goldmine in the 1800s and the more players that come to win a flag the bigger the slope. The facts are this mine is still full of gold and been regularly mined.I think BJ can shed more light on this for you(after Golf of course) :-k
Hey cuzzy did you guys think of forfeiting on saturday it only becomes a 10 goal loss?

not sure who he is but a lot of blokes kicked alot of goals in the b grade so not exactly sure how many he would have kicked. What is the rule on a fft surley the club involved in a fft would cop a fair fine. I would think at least $1000. Never thought of fft though why would you bother doing a pre season and training if you were going to fft.

I have offered wondered though if clubs wanted a team removed from the league due to overall dominace such as willunga the clubs could just not rock up to the games at willunga, this would create no gate revenue and no canteen/ drink sales etc. Just a thought if willunga are still winning 10 years from now.

great pic eagle!! Myponga really do love it like that I remember it that bad but 10 years ago.
Cuzzy their are alot of penalties involved in a fft, and I believe if you have more than 2 in a season you are kicked out of the league. Not 100% sure on that.

This from the GSFL constitution and bylaws

FORFEITURE OF MATCHES

19. a) No club or player shall refuse to play under the field umpire appointed by the League, and no club shall forfeit any match because of objection to the appointed umpire. A club so refusing to play or forfeiting a match for such reason shall be suspended or expelled from the League or otherwise dealt with as the League may determine.

b) Any players or player who refuse to play or takes part in the forfeiture of the match on account of the objection to the appointed umpire may be disqualified for such period as the League shall think fit.

c) A Club forfeiting a match for any other reason shall notify the League Secretary of its reasons for forfeiting and the League may accept the explanation, or deal with the club so forfeiting or the players of such club as it may think fit.

d) In the event of a club receiving a forfeit it will be credited with the points "scored for" at the rate of 100 points for A grade, 80 points for reserves, 60 points for Senior Colts and 40 points for Junior Colts.

e) Any club which forfeits a match in the last three minor round games shall be liable to a fine of $50. per match.

So basically they can 'deal' with a club that forfiets as they see fit.... so could be any range of penalties... that's how I read it anyway O:)
