Hope Valley v Brahma Lodge - HV by 100 points. BL will go down to Div 7. Let's hope the umps make it through the game.
WOS v Lockleys - 2 losses in a row isn't a good way to finish the minor round and roll into finals but that's what Lockleys will do. WOS by 7 goals.
TOS v Hectorville - Hectorville will be too good and win by 6 goals.
Houghton v Glenunga - big game, but Glenunga will take the points, just, sending Houghton down to Div 7 (stoked, never have to drive out to that bloody oval again).
West Croyden v CLG - CLG by 20 goals. It'll be intersting to see if there are any scuffles. The last thing CLG would want would be any reports.

I agree there is a shortage of umpires so what you get is what you get but it shouldnt matter if its div 1 or div 7 the rules are the same so the umpires should know what they are doing. They get paid so should know how to do the job. Do you not have to deal with these umpire every week cause i dont think you would be very happy if you did.
Dont want to just bag these guys they turn up each week and do the job and cop allot of s***t and abuse for doing it but it is very frustrating and just think u r going to maybe see more of striking and verbal abuse towards umpires if something doesnt improve. Im not condoning that behaviour towards umpires but i can sometimes understand why some players feel like they want to hit them.
So you think its ok for a player to feel like hitting an umpire?

Personally I think both blokes should get life bans. I mean, what scumbags. So much dirty stuff goes on behind play at this level that I think if you have actually been reported for something you probably deserve it. But doing that to an umpire? The competition would be better off without them.

This weeks games i think could have so many upsets some teams may decide to rest some players to prevent them getting hurt, some teams have allot to play for so this week is hard to predict. I reckon Trinity's A Grade are the only team going into round 18 with nothing to loose and wanting to end there season on a high with a win. I know Trinity result still has an impact on this weeks games but i cant believe how many outcomes come down the very last round. Its really exciting tho no chance of getting on to the SAAFL site Saturday nite 5.30pm.

WOS v Lockleys - Have developed a good rivalry with Locks over the past few years, always seem to play them in the last round! something to do with the league being lazy with their programming?, managed to beat them by a few goals in round 18 last year to knock them out of the top 5 & keep us in Div 6, this time should be just a couple of goals in it once again
TOS v Hectorville - TOS are some chance on their tricky oval, but form suggests Heccies. Will be interesting to see how well Heccies can win after two easy weeks in a row against bottom sides following on from their shock loss to Brahma (I think this was just about upset of the year!!). Heccies by 36 points
Houghton v Glenunga - Glenunga continue to get closer to the better sides than Houghton do, on this basis Glenunga by 24 points
West Croyden v CLG - Love to see an upset but being a realist you would think that CLG will keep their foot on the pedal and earn their week off - CLG 79 points.
Therefore the ladder would like this;
CLG
WOS
Hectorville
Hope Valley
Lockleys
Trinity
Glenunga
West Croydon
Brahma
Houghton

I think your around the mark with your predictions. Depends on what attitude TOS take into this game. It could be doesnt matter we will have a crack for a while and Heccies run away or its our last game and we arent going anywhere so lets give it everything at home.

well said TT, if all players made the same number of mistakes as the umps , we would have at least a 100 AFL sides. to all players in all grades , be honest with yourselves, you are not as good as you think you are, you do make silly mistakes but sometimes your teammates make you look better than you are . the umps are on their own, accept the bad call the same as you 'snigger' at the iffy one that goes your way.

Your presumption would be wrong- the umpires we had in last yrs prelim were woeful.
