South Africa in England

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Re: South Africa in England

The Poms will win this test. I reckon winning the dead rubber is one of the toughest gigs in Test Cricket. Especially when the job is done in an away series. Smith didn't have the stomach for the fight yesterday and KP should record a win first up as skipper.

regards,

REB

Well, REB, it's South Africas turn there. Harris was in a much better position than Ntini to catch that ball.

yeah, he'll be like Atherton and stewart and win a test as captain in his first test in a dead rubber...

the Jarpies have the minds on the Veldt not the Oval...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Fervently waiting the stock standard pommie implosion, followed by an insipid second dig (where captain kp will score less than ten).
saffies aren't out of it yet.

TEA
SA 7/265 2ND INNINGS [ 76 AMLA a big name anagram ]
LEAD 143
Lets hope SA make about 100 more
That way K :prayer: :prayer: :prayer: P has a chance to be the only skipper on Test debut to make a ton in each dig?

This Pommie attack is similar to the one that had success vrs AU in 2005 in that its a 5 genuine bowler attack.

2005
HOGGARD
HARMISON
JONES
FLINTOFF
GILES ahem

2008 THIS TEST
ANDERSON
HARMISON
FLINTOFF
BROAD
PANESAR

2005 had better quicks but 2008 has a spinner

BETFAIR ODDS AT TEA
EG $1-33
SA $5-50
DR $14

I was thinking the same way myself, but there's a lot that can happen in five days, but REB, good work. :) KP might hit the winning runs for a nice way to finish your first Test as captain.

England win a dead rubber and rant and rave about it, where were they for the rest of the series?

Everytime they win a meaningless game it's "watch out Australia".
