Last time we had a chat you were thinking of retirement? Did the hanger & winning goal change things?

yes, i have regained some hope.

It may mean a few lean years but thats the way ir goes.

LF and mr magoo good points there hopefully the points system sorts it out is the league using it it might be why bassani(he rated hinself a 5 point playerTOOL)is not playing A grade because theyve used all there points.
Luvs footy a while back i heard something about relocating the sports complex at goolwa so the land could be used for housing is this true or jusst hearsay.IS the water rising in the river.

Come on LF, Saints have spent more points this year than any club. The impact of the points system will not kick in until next year when teams go to recruit and have already spent 7, 10, 11 or 13 points in 2008. Remember this year everybody strated with no one on points being carried over, different next year. All clubs have a good % of locals. The points threshold should be higher.

Perhaps we should all see how our clubs stand up to this

I wasn't around when some of those boys were juniors (A couple of them are still Senior Colts)...but it makes me feel good for the club and as a parent that they did progress from juniors and stayed with the club and that there is hope for the future O:)

You're very insightful Mr Magoo.

Thankyou :)

Has anyone in the GSFL had to front the tribunal yet in 08? Or been suspended in any grades?

  So that was from the Bays game when Cuzzy's 7ft mate attacked him? Was it a A grade player or B grade? Did he get off due to the ump not showing up on tribunal night?

Very interesting post magoo, didn't realise there was so many local juniors in the side. Saying that though, I think that the reason why we aren't strong enough at the moment is because we Haven't gotten any recruits in the last few years where other clubs have atleast a couple every year. We need couple of mature recruits to help and teach these young fellas for a couple of years. That is where the Valley boys we had in the years leading up to our flag were so good. Hard footy and finals experience.

I dont know about good to see Jelom, I think reports are down due to the umpire situation, not enough umpires to go around and do all B grade games, the umps that are avaliable to do A grade are from town and wont travel down mid week for a tribunal hearing abd the boundry umpires are all of 12 years old!! I think their are just as many if not more reportable offences going on they just get a blind eye turned on them.

Good point kappars not going to have a go at the umps or the people who fill in but i was watching a reserves game a few weeks back and a lot of frees went unrewarded(keep the game flowing good)but come finals when there is proper A grade umps are they going to pay tcky touch free kicks some players may be exposed.IN my day what happened on the field stayed on the feild and beers after.
what happendto the old meet you behind the change rooms after :drinkers: :drinkers: :-({|=

How many goals will hams finish up with during the home and away season, 115? Thats a awesome effort by anyone!
I was speaking with some friends over in WA last night and they informed me that SA born Rod Tregenza now playing in the WPFL is on 195 goals for the year with two games still to play in a season that is two games shorter than the GSFL!! I know this will raise allot of doubt about the quality of the league and so on and to be honest the bottom 2 or 3 sides are pretty poor but the top 5 sides all have quality about them. This season the league has not been the best of quality by any means but last season he kicked 10 or more on 3 occasions in loosing games and finals! I just think this is a great achievement by a local SA guy that has played for South Adelaide and deserves recognition. =D> =D>
