is that the joint on woodville road?
Yes, originally there was a St Clair Estate there and the old house was still occupied by the family in one corner of the whole block comprising Woodville High. Later they moved out and the building had some administrative function.

Prior to that hall referred to being built on the rest of the estate - the block next nearer the railway station from the school, the practice Hockey fields and secondary football facilitties were over there. The main footy oval fronted Leslie street on the Woodville Rd corner and the main Hockey fields ran along ?Actil Avenue I think it was at the back of the school.

Yeh Dogger my old man was either on the board there in the early stages or helped in the foundation of the place.

I remember they had tennis on the basketball courts at one stage.

That reminds me, anyone remember Roselands, indoor tennis centre?

More about Saint Clair.

Tennis courts, Basketball, Yes Yes.

On Roller Skating, This old Fella used to police the skating Rink on roller skates.

He was absolutely great on his skates.

Ah the old days.

My good friends were reasonable skaters. We all learnt together.

$2 skate hire. $2 to be there. $4 never better spent....

Causty, Batten, Hainsy, Waring....

Me and my friends walked 6 miles to enjoy the moment.

maybe 12-14 yrs old.... 51 now...

My 13th birthday party.

Maybe 5 of my best friends watched "Von Ryans Express"

at the "Woodville Town Hall" picture theatre...

What a BUZZ. How important I Felt.

A long walk from Balcombe Avenue in those days. (Ha, in these days)

Muggsy suggested,

has anyone seen the egg mark on the screen.

(Someome supposedly threw an egg at the screen...?)

I betcha we all looked for that mark, Mugsyballs....
