Now that you have to log in to pass comment on this site, I reakon the levels of abuse will drop markedly.

This change is much more interesting than the retirement of some washed up hack from Norwood.

If Footysa can include automatic spell-check on all posts, then we could eliminate the spelling Nazi's too.

In last '95 I was conversing with a guy about Pearl Jam bootlegs on a newsgroup (that was all that was around at the time). His messages were signed off as "Meaningless Matt", with Meaningless being a Pearl Jam song. I thought I'd do the same, and started using "Dissident Dave". I started on IRC soon after that and needed a name, so used Dissident. Been using it ever since.

(I wish it was something about governments and being a dissident, but it's not )
