not talking out of school to say taylor is very good, bondy has had his moments, the skipper fairhurst goes well and the ruckman is very solid but taylor is a proven vote getter so he got my nod..they have young ones everywhere turk so its all new to me and most teams that play them atm

Id say if anyone was going to get the medal from our team id suspect Jimmy Kuhndt or Simmo.

The 'players taking votes thing' is an interesting one. Guys like Hoklas, Scudds, Boxer, Seaton will all take some. Before we even mention McCarthy and Ravlich. On the other hand the same thing could have been said last year but Toddy Shepphard got the medal in Div 6. 2nd in the B&F. Jimmy Bartel and Ablett Jnr as well as Judd, Cuz and Kerr are also prime examples of blokes who were apparently meant to have to much competiton but still polled well.

Reading umpires votes is nearly impossible. Last year we the guys who finished 5 and 6 in our B&F, both having multiple BOG games but didnt get a single association vote. Boxer came 7-8 in the B&F but was our second highest association vote winner, even beating Brown, the B&F winner. Work that out :? :?

Looking at the other clubs....ill say Platten, Forth, Mount (as he is a perennial vote winner) and Hudson (the onballer) as another smokey from greenacres
Smith and Greenshields should poll well also.

great minds think alike BB

they tell me seaton has been your best this year..fair call?

lets face it..the same guys we think have generally no idea as umpires are the ones doing the selecting so we aint got much hope but i think over 18 games it works itself out even with the odd idiot doing votes..a deserving winner he will be..no-one complains about who wins the brownlow cuz it works itself out and coughs up a deserving winner..oh except when woewodin won ,that was a disgrace LMAO

i remember when jamie mason won the A2 medal for kenilworth..he polled in only 5 games...5 x 3 = 15 :)

Scudds would've polled 6 votes against us, he kicked another couple bags aswell against other teams.

IMO the media has an influence on umpires voting in the AFL, they constantly hear names popping up and they tend to take more notice of them, unless the umpires read the fine quality information that gets posted on here, they make up their own minds by what they have seen on the day.

Seats has been very good for us this year.
Will poll very well in the B&F but again, so many other name to take into account.

He has probably been our most consistent player across the games he has played.
Has missed 4-5 with work as well.

Maybe scudds and forth should be odds on favourites considering the amount of goals they have kicked. We all know that stands out to umpires.

Scudds stands out because he's the size of a townhouse, his goals are mainly from marks, Forthy is more of a combination between smart play and marks. I think Scudds will poll way more than Forth, he slips under the radar IMO.

Lm : we found scudds' achilles heel on saturday..made him miss 2 easy shots for his 100th..pm me for the secret LOL

he takes about 45 seconds from mark to kicking his goal..takes forever to kick them..and then a small run up and swing through

Darko could possibly poll well too although has missed 3 of the last 5 games... And young Gentilcore has played the last 10 and been high in the club votes and stands out a fair bit...
Always interesting to see where votes will be shared when teams win so many games and by so much.... But rest assured they will get a fair few to share about...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
