"Cam Donaldson, Mickey Dimisch and Andy Payne"

About my favorite Australian movie of all time...although still chuckle at some of the skills of the actors. Jack Thompson's handball technique, where in one scene, he throws it into the air and then punches it, is similar to his kick from the boundary that is going way out of bounds but somehow swings back for a goal :)

Sensational movie. Wish I was alive back in those days. Life seemed a lot simpler... (or is that a false impression?)...

They laugh about that on the 'making-of' extra on the DVD as well.

Well worth a look...

Excuse my ignorance but was the players featured actually Collingwood players at the time?

Also another funny thing was the commentry during the whole movie, lame! And when he beats tank in 1st training session then kicks the goal, watch it come off his boot, biggest mongrel of all time headin straight out on the full i reckon!!!

Some were Collingwood players of the time - they were bit players.
Rene Kink was one of them.

Dunno bout that I'm quite thankful for concrete trucks & forklifts for unloading materials.
Funny movie though, picked up the DVD a couple of years ago.

It must have been a big surprise to the MCG Trust when, during the Grand Final at the end (between Collingwood and Fitzroy!), the commentators announced a crowd of 130,000 - not bad considering during many of the action shots during that game, there are rows of empty seats behind the players.
