Probably the only player to stand out all year in Mclarens team. I think you saying he won't be in the top 10 is a bit of a rough call on the young fella. :o

I know it doesn't always count but he is also a very likeable young fella whose main aim is to go out and play football !! =D>

Interesting debate you've sparked there Jelom.. I reckon you need to look at a few different aspects of each oval.

Best Playing Surface: Goolwa - good size ground and drains well
Worst Playing Surface: Mt Compass - Odd shaped ground, last couple of times I've played there it's been a bog hole on the flank closest to the entrance gate
Best Away Changerooms: I'm a bit biased but I think that the Langhorne Creek away changerooms would have to be the biggest and the best
Worst Away Changerooms: Toss up between Yank and Goolwa but I think Yank would have to take the cake because they seem to get smaller every year
Best Catering: I reckon the steak sandwich with the lot that they do at McLaren would be the best in the comp, it's the only canteen where you can get a schnitzel pack too
Worst Catering: Mt Compass, Myponga & Willunga have to all be nominated for not having a BBQ (last time I played at Victor they'd given up on their BBQ too I reckon)
Best Oval for Spectators: I think this would have to go to Mt Compass with the view you get from the top of the steps, being a narrow ground you always feel close to the action too
Worst Oval for Spectators: Willunga - Barry Pilmore's drilled the message of playing the top side of the ground in so hard that you're always so far from the action if you're in the grandstand or in front of the canteen (maybe I should watch from the other side next time??)

Its fair to say Pongy are all over the shop at the moment with getting rid of you WOW then putting up a ball net behind the goals that have a car park and netball courts behind them so 90% of the time getting the ball returned after a goal or point have been kicked is not an issue but up the opposite end where all you have is wet lands, cattle and no spectators they leave it open for the ball to go missing in the bushes that seperate the oval grounds to farmers paddoks. To make the situation worse all the very large tress that protect the oval that ran the whole length of the ground have now been cut down this also makes the end that does not have the ball stopping net having a down wind advantage and the ball traveling further into wet lands wasting alot more time and causing frustration.

Pongy is defintaely not a good ground to watch footy now, all the play seems to end up at the far end and with the slop of the oval it makes it very hard to see what is going on from the club room end, where everyone watches from.

How many footys did they find in the trees at 'Pongy when they cut them down? I remember Lootsy spraying one off the side of his boot into them one day and the ball wasn't seen again! Not for the rest of the game at least!!

It is the slope of the oval that makes it hard to see and the slop of the mud which makes it the funnest oval to play at when your in mini colts!

Jelom mate who did I slag off? Its a well stated fact that Myponga have made a few questionable choices over the past 12 months. You have been on the Forum all of a week or two so dont go making accusations like that!
No doubt LF is out selling many houses now the river is getting water so real estate will boom for the next two weeks in Goolwa that will be the reason he is missing and BJ has been out the office for a few weeks now and unable to commit to the forum or Facebook full time at the moment.

It looks to me as though you are a Mclaren Mum.

Their 17's have done very well over the last 4 weeks and the 14's have been consistantly good all year.

Where do you see the 17's finishing? It is still very tight between the top 6 or 7 and with Myponga and Yank to come McLaren look safe

Next week in the 14's top v second should be a ripper

Jelom 19....could he be related?????

Yes, guessed right a McLaren Mum :D

The 14's have a lot of natural talent and yes are doing very, very well.

17's are a great bunch of boys on and off the field (Well that I know of anyway) and I really wish them well... I hope they go all the way like last year.... they've worked hard and have a great coach in Gianni Petrucci

Umm... no Jelom and I are not related :D

Your not Gianni's mum are you?
Your 14's are going very well and I am backing them for the flag, I have seen them in a few games and they are great to watch.
Your 17's are also a good chance but with the top 7 all so tight its too hard to pick who will make finals let alone a flag and Mclarens still have to play Compass! In saying that Mclarens do have a great run in and with the win over Saints they should make the 5. Saints and Bays have the hardest run in and maybe the two teams to miss out.
