Yes. From the SportsCentre on port road, Hindmarsh. I think all our shorts, socks, shirts are meant to be from there also.

Jumbo. I was just stirring mate, I hear from people that Wells do it, but I cant think of any players. The only ones I can think of probably do not train thus get put in the B's.

WHY? and what happens to the profits?(don't say there is none) this is just another case of the APFL TAKING PROFITS from clubs. you think the crows would accept this sort of directive from the AFL. Start working on improving the deplorable umpiring we are subjected to week in week out. BRADLEY

It will be APFL approved jocks, mouthguards and football boots next.

But I must say, the quality of Sports Centre gear seems pretty good.

Don't even get me started on umpires mate. They're bad enough in the AFL let alone in our League. Part of it is the interpretation of the rules, but from what I've seen no umpire uses any common sense. Common Sense boys! Use it!!

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but I thought players need to play at least 3 Reserves games during the year to qualify for finals. If they play at least 1 A grade game, then they need to play 5 in the Ressies.

also come finals time dont clubs have to nominate xxx number of A-grade players.
and those players CANNOT play b grade finals NO MATTER what.

(2good4u - sure this isnt what stopped virginia?? think you would find most clubs will list injured players in the "list")

What are the rules in relation to recruits in this league? Is there a maximum numbers of non local players or is there a points system as per the Hills league? Do most clubs recruit their max.?

Your having a crack at two blokes you don't even know, These two blokes come to Hamley Bridge on the back of the club winning a flag but losing 15 out of 21 premiership players. The Club has had some pretty TOUGH times over the past three years and would have been easy for the Burgess Boys to walk away, but they are still there and aint going anywhere. Super coach as you call him has blooded so many young kids over this period, and because of this they are finally seeing the result come through, H.B's B'grade had a great win yesterday against Mallala, and alot of those B graders have had A grade experience. I think your being a bit too critical of yesterdays performance from Hamley, they had 3 bloke out already from there team and then another 6 blokes pulled out of the selected side between Thursday night and sat morning. If that happens to any side your going to be against it from the start. But i know Hamley are very disapointed with the result but they did get to introduce two more U/17's to Agrade football, and learn from the Best side in the comp. If you remember only a week before that Hamley pushed United right to the end and look at yesterdays results United smashed Hummocks. How quickly people forget. Mallala are a great side, but really its pretty easy to be when you whinge to the association and get given a extra import spot, even though you won the flag the year before. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lets cover Toughness shall we, Supercoach Burgess playing since 22 or 23 years old on one leg, After being told that he will not play footy again, I really dont Understand what some people see as tough, Is it Big Scary looking guys(one from Balak), who belt ya behind the play, or ones that defy the odds and play for 10 years after being told they'll never play again? You decide!
As for the Blonde Bombshell, yeah he doesn't go around belting players either but when you see him shirk an issue or back down from any situation then i'll stand corrected. Its pretty easy playing in a winning team, but true character comes out in the tough times, im not sure how much the Burgess boys have to do to show that they don't turn there backs on tough times.
As for the two boys hiding on the bench at the end of yesterdays game, As i said earlier Ben Burgess didn't play last week because of injury and wasn't selected this week but played due to all the late changes, played as much as he physically could, and then come of in the third term in pain(pretty TOUGH in itself really), and as for Brett, you might like to go ask the Mallala goal umpire the reason for him coming off, and i can guarantee you it wasn't to hide.
I reckon get of there backs, they both have nothing to prove to anyone. they have runs on the board. love to know what you have done in football Swamp Donkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok Mrs Burgess where do we start?
Toughness..... I never said either of them were not tough or that they go around belting players. They are both very skillful players, no doubt, thats not the issue. All i said was that if you want to develop your team you need leaders when times get tough, not hiding on the pine. Isnt that a fair point Scud or were you happy to see them trudge off after half time?
On the extra import, well why not ask? Lets not whip a dead horse, again! All that the assoc had to say was no, and Im sure you have a representitive who is supposed to take your views to the board......... obviously your opinion isnt important to him. By the way every club got to have an extra one as well, Hamly included!!!
I think it great that Hamley are developing young players and are giving them an opportunity. If they can retain these lads over the next 3-4 years and get some quality leaders to the club to help the young blokes out a bit, they have a future to look forward to.

I have been able to get to know both Burgess boys quite well over the past three years and would certainly say that both these guys are guys that would not go hiding in tough times, if you wish we will agree to disagree. In regards to players giving back to the club, you can’t question these two as both support the club with functions and helping the club out when possible, Ben is even the secretary of the club as we had no one else put there hand up to help out – How many other A-grade coaches would be in this position?? I do agree with the point that we do have a few players probably not supporting the club as well as we would like and hopefully both players and committee can rectify this situation, but I am sure every football club has or are in this situation.

Seriously SD go up and have a chat to both theses boys after a game and you would be surprised that both are not that bad a guys.

Now lets stop talking about these two boys, as i think there are bigger issues then them in football.

Mythical Creature wrote:How good was the win against Hummocks on the weekend. The pressure from the midfield and the back six was the best I have seen from us this year. Are Hummocks missing Joel already?

I guess the only negative for the day was the Umpiring (or Umpire). Young Angus once again showed his class and whilst I may not have agreed with every decision he made he was CONSISTENT which is all you can ask for. As for the other Umpire (Alyward), both clubs would agree that he was a disgrace. How he can get a game umpiring anything other than 14's with his fitness and decision making skills is beyond me!

Good to see Virginia still trying new things and getting the results, keep up the good work.

As for Mallala - Hamley, well you would expect scores like that when you come up against the top side and you're stacking the B's for a tilt at the finals!

I think FGH has put my argument across. Not having a go at any other club but we certainly are not in the process of putting A-graders back to the B’s. In fact we had 6 players pull out of Saturdays game, which we brought up a couple U17’s, Ben and Rhys Savage played after ruling themselves out before training Thursday night with injuries and 3 B-graders came up and played, so the B-grade could have been a lot stronger than it was.

I reckon we stop having cracks at individuals at different clubs and look at the bigger picture which twogood4u has brought regarding the association and see if anything can be done, I don’t want to see things end up like they have out at the BSR, Robertstown league where that league will fold next year.

Thats a fair call FGH.
I am sure that the Burgess boys are great blokes to have around your footy club out there. I was just calling it as I saw it. Its never good to see a game like the one Saturday when a team is so depleted. Both clubs get nothing out of the game. Lets hope FGH that Hamley can get back on thier feet next season.

Great to see Matty Koch back in the bomber strip Saturday too. Been through a fair bit over last few years. A great bloke and unreal club man for HB who deserves the chance to play footy again.

Swamp Donkey, if you wanna criticise players for hiding you better find better targets than the Burgess boys, these two guys are the type who will stand up when it counts. Ben has shown incredible courage to come back from one of the worst knee injuries most ppl would ever see and fights through the pain barrier every week. I know Brett can be a bit out there & that irritates many observers but he's kept coming back and fronting up for a losing club for three years when the best way to hide would be to move on to a winner
opinions are like armpits, everyone has them & everyone else's stink!

yes correct, but the list was issued weeks before finals. young chris campbell was not allowed to play in the Bs GF, when he played most of season in the Bs! The association place him in the required As list. SO now they(APFL committee) select whom they think should be an A grader or B grader. LIKE I STATED B4! they should concentrate on improving the UMPIRING and leave selection to clubs. If they meet the right criterium that is set out in black and white(i put that in for swamppie)
