not a bad attempt at all.
but like the poo said bit confused about the FF.
wouldnt the leading goal scorer get that gig? b.burgess.

I think the rooster has something against him(b.burgess), but even A.Leo has had a consistent year. both players playing in the bottom two sides so good effort by both of them.

Don't think travy's sons would take the drive out there ,too far to go.....Too many hob nobs not letting people have their say, young broady is having a time of it at the moment but its good to see him stick too his guns. If united can pull something together and find some hart this weekend for those 2 milestones and get over the line they are a chance.

You have no idea Scud!!!!!

Maybe bias here but they're part of winning team (so far), Dean Christie, Rimmer, Ryan Mont and Southern must be in there without any coubt whatso ever. I would leave out ? Evans (not shadow), Matchoss, Taylor, Earl.

A huge upset on Sat with the Rams knocking off a spiralling Rooster outfit. What happened there Rooster?

United finally starting to get some form from their guns and back in the hunt for a crack at the big one. Good to see Sam Mc back playing. I should have had a 50 on that one with you about 3 months back when I mentioned it MC. Like i said MC will team to beat when it counts.

Hamley Bridge and Supercoach Burgess absolutely embarrassing against Mallala. My one crack this week is at the Burgess brothers. The coach walks off early in the third and blonde bombshell walks to the bench early in the last. What are you doing lads, resting up for the BIG games against the weaker sides so you can kick 5 each and still finish bottom? I mean come on, when YOUR young developing team is copping a belting you blokes should be out there with your team mates not hiding on the bench. P-Weak!! HB need another 10 Tommy Smiths, blokes who have a crack!

I fear the roosters are gone when they had a real chance this year to influence the ladder maybe next year for the young outfit.Does not surprise me swamp to hear that news on burgess ,definate cavity of the chest region and true colours show when it gets tuff. Looks like longies are showing some interest in succeeding now, starting to make it interesting should be a cracker in 2 weeks time. I must get pole position at magpie park for that one.Just as the tigers gain momentum a bye pops up it's a little frustrating i think.Maybe broady should pull a sat training this week to keep the spirit up. Bring on saturday fortnight.

2 wells had the cattle, so who/what is the cause of their recent poor performances? credit to the rams they were relentless in their attack on the ball ALL day , unlike last couple of games dropping off after 1/2 time. I TOLD YOU SO! rams might pull a few upsets before seasons end. 8)

Let me just start by saying SWAMP DONKEY you are < edited by mods. refrain from abusing others on this site. >

Your having a crack at two blokes you don't even know, These two blokes come to Hamley Bridge on the back of the club winning a flag but losing 15 out of 21 premiership players. The Club has had some pretty TOUGH times over the past three years and would have been easy for the Burgess Boys to walk away, but they are still there and aint going anywhere. Super coach as you call him has blooded so many young kids over this period, and because of this they are finally seeing the result come through, H.B's B'grade had a great win yesterday against Mallala, and alot of those B graders have had A grade experience. I think your being a bit too critical of yesterdays performance from Hamley, they had 3 bloke out already from there team and then another 6 blokes pulled out of the selected side between Thursday night and sat morning. If that happens to any side your going to be against it from the start. But i know Hamley are very disapointed with the result but they did get to introduce two more U/17's to Agrade football, and learn from the Best side in the comp. If you remember only a week before that Hamley pushed United right to the end and look at yesterdays results United smashed Hummocks. How quickly people forget. Mallala are a great side, but really its pretty easy to be when you whinge to the association and get given a extra import spot, even though you won the flag the year before. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets cover Toughness shall we, Supercoach Burgess playing since 22 or 23 years old on one leg, After being told that he will not play footy again, I really dont Understand what some people see as tough, Is it Big Scary looking guys(one from Balak), who belt ya behind the play, or ones that defy the odds and play for 10 years after being told they'll never play again? You decide!
As for the Blonde Bombshell, yeah he doesn't go around belting players either but when you see him shirk an issue or back down from any situation then i'll stand corrected. Its pretty easy playing in a winning team, but true character comes out in the tough times, im not sure how much the Burgess boys have to do to show that they don't turn there backs on tough times.
As for the two boys hiding on the bench at the end of yesterdays game, As i said earlier Ben Burgess didn't play last week because of injury and wasn't selected this week but played due to all the late changes, played as much as he physically could, and then come of in the third term in pain(pretty TOUGH in itself really), and as for Brett, you might like to go ask the Mallala goal umpire the reason for him coming off, and i can guarantee you it wasn't to hide.
I reckon get of there backs, they both have nothing to prove to anyone. they have runs on the board. love to know what you have done in football Swamp Donkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOTALLY agree with you scud. This person(swamp donkey) is one eyed black and white! ALL is well! ONLY when it is going the maggies way. Their U17s were not going to be competitive, So they endorse the mercy rule. What about the GF venues? Only three clubs profit from holding the GF. All clubs should be given the opportunity to make sum cash from hosting GFs. Roseworthy campus has perfectly good facilaties for hire. Clubs who dont have the facilaties could still host a GF.

Every side could do with 10 Tom Smiths (if you knew him you would know he hates being called Tommy). But you will also find that Hamley have a lot of players that are hard at the ball and put their body on the line week in week out. Respectable showings against Hummocks, United and even Mallala last time, reflect this.

The magpies are a very classy side and are fantastic to watch when they get going, a little like the Hamley sides of 2003, 2004, 2005. You may know that only 4 players remain from 2005 grand final runners up team, all are 24 years and under and the current leaders of the club, all four have missed substantial amounts of football this season due to injuries.

Clubs go through cycles and what goes around comes around. We will see where Hamley Bridge are when their 12 players under the age of 20 have matured and when their current mature players and leaders (all 24 years and under) are 28 and in their football prime.

Swamp Donkey, there is no need to resort to personal attacks of one or two players. If you knew what Ben Burgess had to go through week in week out just to play, then you would probably re-think your comments. If you played under him, like myself, you would also know he has 100% respect from all his players and the club. If you knew the guy personally, then you would not make comments like you did.

Swamp Donkey, I suspect you are not a current Mallala A-Grade player, because they all seem like pretty good blokes to me.

On a different note. It was good to see Brad Griffiths back and having a kick yesterday, hopefully the body holds up and he will be back in the A Grade for the Pies before the finals.
Some folks are wise and some are otherwise.

She's not singing yet but the fat lady is warming her vocal cords - hopefully she will keep them warm for at least another week and the Roosters can get back on track.

I reckon she's singing now - it's still mathematically possible but we all know what that means. :(

I agree FGH - if the club can take a bit of pain while the youngsters go through the developmental stages then this will be a great investment in the on-field future for the club - Two Wells are doing it, from what I saw yesterday Virginia are doing it - in a few years the ladder will be vastly different. Keep it up.

so if two wells & virginia are both doing it, doesnt that mean two wells is going backwards not forwards??

How so? TW comfortably won the last 2 derbys - with any young team the results will be inconsistent - but that excuse only lasts so long. TW played 3 imports on Sat - that IMHO is also very important for the future.

Good point, Missed "the big Rig" Should be in on form, and this team was picked by me!!

And on both Occaisions i've had the dubious honour of watching Luke "Shadow" Evans, he's turned it on, i realise he hasn't kicked as many as A.Leo or B.Burgess, but from what i saw he was my pick, sorry but yeah!

Not quite sure, buddy, had a bit of athink about it and have come up short! :D

Funny the the boys in white were very generous in their advice after the game, suggesting a few reasons for the slump, so thanks boys (it's nice for them to give some advice out instead of receive it from yours truly!!)

Swamp has enough credit to be able to have a crack at anyone or club in this league, i wouldn't question his credentials, Passionatley Black and white he may be, but he is APFL born and bred.

The two blokes you are going into bat for may be doing the right thing by your beliefs and you may be able to sleep comfortably at night with what's happening at the bridge, but i can tell you there are those who are not.
Ring-in's from "Wingfield Royals" and the like are no one elses idea of going forward, developing Juniors, yes definatley, but not buying in blokes with famous last names, who drop out at the last minute! Stick with the Juniors, and have a look out for players that want to invest in the club.

How do you suggest Hamley present a full A grade side thats able to be competitive every saturday without imports???? from the looks of things Ben Burgess is giving plenty of juniors a run, but you need a core of experience players around them.
