Yeah, #7 i think he is. I agree, got crunched early against us though and had minimal impact after that.

the other brother is taller if i remember correctly, but a good player..caleb is quick and has great skills..same as the GG hoklas

turk : i mentioned the elephant gun earlier this week..i couldnt get any bullets for it..so we will try food..the full back will have a yiros down each sock and throw them out deep to the pocket to entice him away from the goal square :)

if that fails we will resort to plan b..a big mac placed on the wing..if hes on the wing eating he cant be sitting up forward

Lets stop making scudds sound bigger then he already is (literally).

The bloke is a big fish in a very small pond, if he was that good at football he would be playing div 1, perhaps sanfl somewhere or would have stuck at his div 2 club from last year.

If he was that good at cricket he would be playing out at a district club, not floating around in div 3 of ATCA.

Either of these levels would probably be acceptable if he was playing at the highest level in one or the other.

If the 140krs your refering to is his bowling speed then he should be playing grade cricket and nearly state cricket, if its his weight your refering to then understandably you would be trying to get out of the way of his follow through.

The bloke in all honestly a waste (of big) space, takes the cash at GG kicks 100 goals pumps is head up further. Then plays his cricket in a team that has been relegated in his time of playing there. Perhaps his cricket ability isnt that good!

who does he play cricket for ?

for the cricketers on here, watson from concordia is the new captain coach of unley this year

fwiw scudds is the biggest shark in our fish bowl so it is relevant to discuss this bohemoth

He plays for Modbury CC and used to play for TTG in the lower grades. Once again if he put his head down could have played a bit higher.

As for bowling 140clicks well i would challange that seriously. It might just be that his bounce resembles that of Joel Garner.

He is a serial chaser of that big fish in a small pond feeling.

The facts are as the Star stated:

The bloke is a big fish in a very small pond, if he was that good at football he would be playing div 1, perhaps sanfl somewhere or would have stuck at his div 2 club from last year.

He is very over rated as when it comes to the crunch he is nothing short of useless against good opposition. And he knows it. For GG in Div 5 he would be almost unstoppable.

forth... all day everyday.the freak is not not just a full forward but can a play variety of positions if required. not just the goal square!!
admittedly hasn't played much out of the forward lines (why would you). but when he has he has been more than serviceable.

Welcome jointman, I think you're making the point that it's easier to play in the lower grades and doesn't mean a lot unless you have played in Div 1/2.
You are correct in some respect but not all guys want to play in the high grades, a lot have sat in Div 4,5 & 6 all their footy life and will never know whether they would or wouldn't make it at the higher level. That's their choice.
My personal point of view is it's a lot easier to "stand out' in the lower grades if you've got some talent, or you are a man mountain, I think this is where the Scudds fits in.
Every week in the top divisions you get a hard game, no easy weeks so it sorts out the bludgers.

Wow....not much love for scuddsy about the place at the moment.
Havnt the trolls come out to play!!!!
Id suggest if people want to bag and make attacks on players go hang out with the bay 13 flogs on BF.

Shane is a very talented footballer. We all know he isnt a prime athletic specimen but when it 25% of the population is overweight or obsese not all should throw stones. Id imagine some of us here would comfortably fall into that category. He is a big lad and he uses it to his advantage well. A crime? No doubt he would face tougher competition in higher divs. As had been said by many before, not all of us chase the dream of high level footy. Why should someone be chastised for making the decision they have? Can we not be respectful enough human beings to accepti it on face value??? Says a hell of alot more about those having digs than anyone else. Typical case of tall poppy syndrome me thinks.

Im sure he has various reasons for leaving modbury. Maybe he wasnt made to feel welcome anymore, Maybe it was the $, Maybe we wanted to have more fun with his footy and a lower division club allowed that. Only he can answer those questions. Is anyone really in any place to judge another individual? Objectivley comment but the brainpower for that may also be beyone some here. Nothing i have read in this thread of the other on the metro board closley resembles an educated argument or opinion.

Wha i dont think is fair are the attacks suggesting that he should piss of up the grades and make a hero of himself "if he is so good". I will stress again, not all of us have the ambition to achieve at high level. The elite are a very special bunch and to often are others bagged for not being elite when in all reality only a minute percentage of the population ever hit that status.

Last i checked i dont remember him pumping up his own tyres outside of any friendly banter we have back at the club. Most hype comes from the budget and outside sources such as here. Again i see no blood on his hands.

Here is something to ponder....If you put adam forth in shane scudds body and vice versa and each made the same achievment of kicking 100 goals in a season (assuming it occurs), who would we be discussing? Dont think im attacking forthy, he is a brilliant player. Is shane a big fish in a small pond because of his physical attributes? or is it becasue he is genuinley better than his competition and people beleive that with that much talent he shouldnt waste it in a lower div? If we were to use the later as our basis for defining the 'big fish small pond' scenario, why do we hear no criticism of any other player in this division fighting below their metaphorical weight division? Think about your answer carefully.

My rant is over for this evening. I axiously await (yet do not hold my breath) for a intellectually crafted rebutal.
