seriously, you are in charge of an AFL club and a co-host of the footy show, so when your club is involved in something - shannon grant - dont go all serious and not say f****ing nothing and just hope that it all blows over!!!!!

is it just me or does he get moody on that show, laughing some moments, and then other times its SERIOUS............FFS get it together or F***** off

He's been a pratt for years. Now we just get to see it (well those who watch the Footy Show do) whereas in the past you could only hear it on the radio (well those dumb enough to listen to Triple M anyway).

I saw on TV news this morning that Sam made another offensive comment that, this time, even his co-hosts were uncomfortable about

What did he say? Anyone see it?

Saw it live and it was a comment that could go either way. Lyon said he didn't take the sexist side but both Brayshaw and Hutchy did. Sam is skating on very thin ice. Given his recent trouble he should think before he opens his mouth

Wouldnt have been so bad if he hadnt first made the comment about talking to her on the show (that comment WAS due to he being good looking). This just set himself up

Still funny, I've heard worse stuff on national television in earlier timeslots.
Just turns out to be horribly sexist and a little embarrassing for the chick.
James and Hutchy drew too much attention to it though.
Professionally, they could have just hinted that he was a little in the wrong, and not made it blatantly clear.

I agree.
If James and Hutchy hadn't said anything, it would have been forgotten within seconds.

OK, now heard the comments several times ... it goes something like this

"we should get her on the show" = OK
"she should come over here" = OK
"I'd like to come over her" =

The last one is mumbled a bit but its what caused Brashaw's reaction. Sam's defence is OK for the fist 2, not the last one

Completely out of line, what was he thinking :?

Mate, that's the most logical thing I've heard. Well said.

It was completely overplayed by the members of the show.

Plus, Sam is under so much scrutiny, everything he said is being micro-analysed.

Yes, it was wrong, he's apologised, move on.

James Brayshaw is so annoying! Garry Lyon gets paid out the most on the show, and if someone pays him or North Melbourne out, it gets serious.

To be honest, i wouldn't mind seeing James go, rather than Sammy.

for the 1st time in a long time i decided to stay up and watch it. started at 12.30am finished at 2.30am. never again, the show has definately gone down the wrong path.

even on thursday night fatty vautin said their footy show is on its last legs with possibly next year being their last due to poor ratings

I thought only narrow minded Melbournites watched it.

Did you miss the audience reaction? They beat James to the punch it's not as tho he spilled the beans. Everybody heard it. Once the uproar started, if James doesn't say anything it looks like he condones the comment ... last thing he wants when he is president of NM trying to build sponsors and members.

Plus they all would have been put on notice after last time I can understand James thinking "oh FFS here we go again"

As for who kept it going - if anyone it was Sammy back-pedalling faster than Kadel Evans while his career flashed before his eyes. His attempts to cover it up were hopeless he should have shut up about it as you suggested.

It's all symptomatic of the fact that just like Big Brother .... the current format of the Footy Show has simply come to the end as all shows do eventually. It's time to move on.

At least quote it right ... even though it's dodgy - does make it different.

After a clip was aired of Tasmanian MP Paula Wriedt commenting on a major sponsorship deal backing a new Tasmanian AFL team, the controversial Newman quipped: "We couldn't get her on, could we?"

The remark sparked a raucous reaction from the audience and panel, before Newman continued: "Worthy of coming on, her."

Watch the You-Tube clip again Diss - about the 31 second mark. The "raucous reaction" was after the second comment

And there was definitely no pause between "on" and "her" - the comma/pause came about when Sammy was back pedalling once the penny dropped. Only Yoda would say "worthy of coming on, her (or "she is"). Everyone other than Yoda would say "she is worthy of coming on".

Anyway, like before he just thought it was a joke I expect and at least he apologised to her directly yesterday

Sam's just getting sadder and sadder by the week...

We all know exactly what he meant... This type of comment is the sign of a man who needs to create controversy to justify his existence.

Having said that, anyone who is offended by Sam's behaviour should simply not watch and anyone appearing on the show not expecting such a comment to be made is naive...
