My undertsanding is that once you reach that 12 games suspension you are deregistered by the Amateur League, so once you have served your suspension, you can go play in another league.

The law about being deregistered after 12 games is a local by-law specifically for the SAAFL and does not relate to other leagues.

So if you get suspended for 12 matches and are de-registered by the amateur league, you can serve your 12 matches and then say go and play in the Adelaide Plains League, or Hills League, or Southern League.

In relation to being runner or coach whilst under suspension and/or de-registered, my understanding is that you can not be a runner or coach whilst you are under suspension, however once that is served, he has been de-registered by the league then and is not really under suspension, so he can be a runner or coach, he cant just register as a player. Have to look at them as two seperate issues, one is an actual suspension, one is being de-registered.

However it would be good to have clarified by the SAAFL.

As for him being a runner and being in a melee, the umpire should have sent him from the ground and a report (if warranted) as there is no place for a runner to get involved like that.

This is the exact letter minus name that was sent from the SAAFL

Dear ***

RE: Withdrawal of Player Registrations

At the General Committee meeting 3rd March 2008, a new rule was introduced into the Rules & Regulations.

9.6 Any player suspended by The League for a total of 12 games or more shall have their registration withdrawn.

The tribunal suspension record shows that you have been suspended for a total of *** games from 2005-2007. Consequently, your registration was withdrawn to play in the SA Amateur Football League on the 13th March 2008. The withdrawal of registration to play is permanent.

The League has a responsibility and duty of care to protect players. Over the last four years the Code of Behaviour has been well publicized to Member Clubs. Last year Code of Behaviour signs were erected in the change rooms of every Member Club and documented in the fixtures handbook.

Although the registration to play has been withdrawn, you are permitted to participate in any other capacity in The League other than playing. This is provided a Member Club is prepared to accept your involvement and participation.

Your Member Club has been notified in writing of this decision. If you have any questions or would like to seek further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Mark D Shadiac

demon68: the umpires had no interest in doing anything on saturday..one umpire had a unimpaired view of #3 from units deliver a right hand hook to the head from behind(dirty coward)..did nothing

our chf was manhandled in front of the same umpire whilst the ball was 50m away..the ump was 3m away watched it and gave no free to our lad who was having his jumper pulled..its called holding the man umpy

then when the melee started..the same umpire didnt even go over to the melee just stood back from it and watched( well lets say he gazed misty eyed) whilst the other ran into the middle of the ground and threw up the ball with 5 players in the middle in total..i could have gotten off at least 4-5 punches if i was out there in the melee and no-one would have done anything..it was a free for all...with the units runner in it and then eyeballing and verballing our 19 y/o runner all the way to our coaches box and threatening him to a fight after the game..meatheads

but whats done is done...joe dirt lives to fight another day and some poor suckers one day will find out that leopards dont change their spots

Why do they let these ferrals play in the SAAFL or footy at all. They do nothing but cause injury to young players and turn young kids and there parents away from the game.....

IM glad i dont have to play against scum like this. I played against Glandore/Kuarna Eagles when in div 4 and they were a bunch of ferrals as well. I would be ashamed if that where my club.

They have a terrible reputation.

(sorry if that offends anyone that is involved with Cental United) not everyone is like this at the club im sure but why let it happen for years on end.

it takes very very strong club ppl to have the guts to take some pain short term and get rid of them for the future of the club..their conduct last year was horrible as was the previous year when they won the flag..we tell our guys that it takes only 2-3 games to establish a bad reputation and it takes 2-3 years to clean it up..proud to say we have not had one report this year in the A grade and only one in the B grade (new guy, fruitcake, we kicked him out of the club after his shitty act)

saying that i am sure there are ppl at units who are trying their best to fix the club..and their new coach this year is a good start..hes a real nice guy but looks out of place there

i have been going out there for 10 years footy smart and its always the same sh1t, different day

first time we played there eddie fry was coaching us..we won by a point and the units supporters ran on the ground after the game to get at the umpire and one king hit him, i was genuinely worried for our players and of course the poor ump..he never umpired again..they also used to have a moron with a megaphone who would abuse you all day with it

FS..the units were ok when we first started playing them..if they were winning all was good and they were our 'bogie' team for a couple of years..but when we started to be a lot more competitive they would push the 'mullet button' and then fights etc would be on all over the place..it seems to be a game plan for them and they have one or two loose cannons that dont know when enough is enough

Club wise they are a stuggling and it seems the bottom of the barrel is closer than it should be

They sound like classy units  !!!!

I remember when Glandore played Modbury at Modbury and we had a few cops playing for us. Lets just say they found out and at quarter time charged and belted the cops for no reason other than there occupation.

Scudds IMO, Forth is clever, he's not a big full forward, great hands and accurate kick.

an example is..forth is like an ablett as a ff, kicks freaky goals and takes hangers..scudds is like a lockett..just one big powerful player

FS..I will be interested to see the answers from other members (not GG or greenies)

Two different types of players..one very big and you need a truck to shift him and he has vice like hands..the other smaller very agile, good hands never goes to ground and as LM said clever

I dont know how to pick the better of them...both will get 100 goals this year and are very valuable to their respectful clubs

Zed.. ???? sensible

Scudds preperation and as you could call it extra carricular activites also affect his game and probably a fair reason why he played so bad at Modbury in Div 2 and so left to play a lower div. He doesnt have the dedication for a higher standard of footy.

Yes i understand that but Shane could have played alot higher if he had the work ethic. He makes alot of excuses for why he is at GG but facts are he wasnt enjoyng his footy at Modbury because 1. Defenders worked him out in higher grade 2. his preperation/attitude wasnt good enough 3. didnt like being told he wasnt good enough to play div2 in his physical shape and frame of mind
