If there is two lanes at the trafiic lights and goes into one afterwards and there is a line in the right hand lane people use the left lane, speed up and go past everyone and then try to cut in. So i speed up to block them so they dont cut in
Perfect example of this is on Fitzroy Tce near the aquatics centre, left lane ends and you merge into 2 lanes. I use the left lane every morning and every morning I don't try and CUT anyone off.. the lane ends and if Im in front of someone I indicate and move into that lane.
Can I suggest you read your frickin road rules before you cause an accident?
I'd never noticed it until I lived in Melbourne and discovered that if you had even your nose in front, and indicated you wanted to change lanes, people dropped back and let you.... It was quite astonishing.![]()
Now when I visit Adelaide I have to remember not to indicate too soon or the b...... behind you accelerates to block you even if your nose is in front.
Adelaide drivers are more aggressive/competitive.
i found that out myself on a visit to melbourne not that long ago, adelaide drivers could learn a lot from a visit to melbourne

Leaping Lindner wrote: You obviously weren't driving around St Kilda/Balaclava/Elwood. I see things everyday on the road around here on the way to work that beggar belief. My recent favourite was the woman in her immaculate 4WD driving her kids to school that decided to cut into my lane whilst crossing an intersection, then once across said intersection stopping when she realised she was in the wrong lane changing lanes and THEN changing back when she realised she was in fact in the right lane in the first place!!! Indicator???? What is an indicator????
Also since when did it become law for people to take their kids to school in 4WDs??? Here's a tip you don't need a 4WD in St Kilda, they managed to get rid of the sandhills about 150 years ago!

After missing out on the 42inch plasma they had for $796, the wife and i went and had a look around with no luck so decided to go back to BIG W and look for a different TV so we wouldn't waste the trip.
They had a 42" AWA plasma there for $1100 with no inbuilt HDTV which we didnt care about as we rarely watch free to air anyway, so I explained the situation and knocked them down to $898 CASH.
They agreed to it, so I'm thinking great, alittle more than what I came here for but not a huge loss.
It then took them 90mins to find the ******* remote that goes with this TV as it was the last one in the building.
I am pleased with the TV but WHAT AN EXPERIENCE

In Melbourne this is legal and normal, and may be the only place you can do a U-turn, except at some specifically marked locations, but to my recall it has never been legal in SA.michael wrote:People that do U-Turns at Traffic Light Intersections.

You can if there's one of these signs
And why we're on it I do a U-Turn at a spot on Henley Beach rd that has a U-Turn sign with NOT PERMITTED between 0700 - 0900.
When I do it it's usually about 1000 ish...The amount of stupid dickheads that can't read the sign properly and toot me give me the shits.
Read the sign MORON !

The Melbourne set up, doing U turns at traffic lights has advantages when the lights are set up to provide for it. In addition major roads often have specific U-turn lanes set up every so often so you can pull to the right and sit there until the road is clear without holding up traffic behind you.Constance_Perm wrote: Mate I hear ya on that ... I used to live on Grange Rd and had to do a U-Turn to get to my house ... At the break in the traffic island there is NO sign whatsoever, but the amount of abuse I used to cop was just annoying as all eff!!
