Having to sit through at least a dozen ads and 5 previews before Get Smart the other night. Ridiculous. Greedy. Call it what you like.

It wasn’t that long ago that you had to wait 15 minutes at the most to see a film, now it’s more than 25 minutes.

Agent 99 made the wait worth it though

Peeve: Wind which makes the rain come down almost sideways.

Bigger Peeve: Holding the umbrella sideways shields the head and torso, but leaves the lower half of the body completely exposed to the elements.

Biggest Peeve: The boundary between the wet and dry regions is just on the wrong side of the goolies.

Having just endured the above 3 peeves during a ten minute march from the train station, I am now sitting in the office with the blind down, paper taped over the window of the office door, and my sodden trousers & socks draped over a chair. I suspect that the likelihood of anyone important knocking on my door this morning has just increased tenfold...

The Mechanic I wont mention the company name .The ones that come right to your door. And my Falcon as well
Was getting the car serviced this coming Friday hadn't made our minds up which Mechanic to go to .As we always seem to have problems with Mechanics .
Anyway Sunday Morning the car would not start something to do with cold temps and being on gas .The wife took me to work called this mob .Was quoted $185 for a service turned into $225. He changed the spark plugs oil etc.Thats not the problem .
Tells the wife serviced the car but its got a list of things wrong with it including fuel pump injectors etc do not use petrol .Until you get all these things fixed all up it will cost us $3'500!!!This guy did not even test drive the car after he serviced it.
Wife told him you must be joking !! A new engine would cost less .Now I am not getting worried will give the mechanic we were going to go a call and get it checked out on Friday .
But do these people actually prey on women or what .

They try it on evryone they think may not know, or who may be too busy to check on them, I suspect.

I had my wife's old Musso serviced at a local SSangyong service centre in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The manager came up with a list of over $6000 he said needed doing urgently, but he could prune it to $5000 if he did it all in one go. He took me under the car and pointed out all sorts of things he said were evidence of the need. A couple of examples - need new shockers $500, major service to hand brake assembly $350.

Over here the RACV are not very interested in doing check ups on that sort of thing. But I was about to drive to Adelaide, so I rang the RAA and booked an inspection for the day after we were arriving, and got a nice detailed report. The shockers needed new rear bushes - $20 fitted at the Pedders across the road from RAA at Keswick. The hand brake did need non-urgent attention and cost me $89.00 at another place back in Melbourne. All the rest was bull.

Mechanics like that give me the shits too. I've heard since that they are going down the tube - can't keep customers!
