Some interesting results on the weekend. We should have beaten Waybacks but couldnt hold them in the last quarter. I reckon the game was evened up from the conditions. Steiger what happenned to Rangers? Did they have lot out or couldnt adapt to their style of footy on that small shitty oval under the conditions. From our game it was certainly not a day for the key position players. Souths must have done well - I think that would be the lowest winning margin against Mallees this round.

Speaking with one Troy Hull tonight, he was saying it all just clicked for the tigers and was a good well fought game. As for the Souths game, we played another couple of good quarters but mallees ran over us in the last half, we had several out too. I think they might have as well

yeah Dorza Mick is playing well just a pity we wont be keeping him here in Lincoln. He's not playing 17s so he can run out an A grade game and not be injured for a's and showed it this week with best on.

CMH... edited friday night post because of the state I was in... They might have been considered derogatory to Handbaggers...

Now... the footy... I wish I'd stayed... Looks like Steiger and I got the 'goodun' we were after.

Yes MP we did get the goodun we were after. Goodun in terms of the closeness of the match but far, far from it in terms of quality. Apart from the 2nd 1/4 when Bostons kicked 5 straight goals with the breeze (a remarkable effort really), neither side handled the wind at all, with the ball being kicked in all directions other than where it was meant to go. (That couple of feet between hands and boot meant the ball did not drop straight onto the boot). The other big factor that I noticed was that the vast majority of players could not read the ball when being kicked with the wind and there were hundreds (sic) of times when the ball cleared the marking contest and bounced forward. The 2 exceptions to this were Haydn Parker & Mallee Miller who both used there nous and took plenty of chest marks behind the marking pack. As for the rest ??? - dumb footy.

The game was important for both sides. For us a chance to get closer to a top 2 position which may well be now gone. So it was a very disappointing loss for Rangers. For Bostons, a very pleasing result and one which may well seal a finals spot for them.

We were not that far off of full strength, so no excuses there, just beaten by a side that probably deserved to win. I would however suggest that the conditions did not suit us overall and and given a calmer day, a different result maybe, who knows?. Having said that a handball to a loose player 15-20 m out from goal instead of a blazing kick on goal in the dying seconds and we may well have kicked a winning goal, which would have meant we stole it. He definitely took the wrong option.

Thought Watho was great as was young Michael Franklin. Also impressed with Max Anderson at times. For us, Jarrod Doudle and liked Chris Puckridge's game

And tiger - to call Poole the best oval in Port Lincoln, please tell me you have got your tongue in your cheek

Rangers had a golf day yesty. Not sure how many went but rekn there would have been a few with some excuses. Perhaps they all should have gone to practise playing something in the wind
I couldn't go - nothing to do with the howling wind, freezing cold and rain rain rain - had to clean up the house after a week of batching before the missus got home. That was a fair enough excuse I thought.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]
