Another scrum, and another drive by France.

Three phases but no progress. Two more phases and now it heads down the back-line.

Burgess emerges with it and breaks away! Cooper is on his inside, but the pass is too far behind him....scrum to France near half way.

possession time with France but they're not punishing the scoreboard

Tillous-Borde makes some ground from behind the French scrum.

The French are having all the possession but can't convert. I just said that you goose and wipe your mouth. you still have sauce on it

ok back to the commentary

Giteau punishes the french fries for some sloppy handling by kicking the ball down field.

ok they set the scrum. a bit of pushing and shoving going on. "KAPOW" Barnes stumbles off looking dazed as France win ANOTHER scrum.

More possession wasted by France as they give away a penalty for going off their feet.

Giteau kicks for touch, we don't need three points, we just want to get our hands on the ball!

Another penalty and Giteau does the same... kicking the ball long. it's will be a try or nothing for the gold jerseys.

DARN IT!!!!!!

The Wallabies just need to show a bit more patience, they look frantic every time they get the ball.

Adam Ashley-Cooper loses it as he tries to go for the line alone...France are let out of jail.

A long flat ball from Giteau to Cross in midfield, Cross steps inside and slides through the French line then sprints 30m to score his first try for the Wallabies!!! and does he love it as all the boys run over to congratulate the young fella =D>

Giteau converts fot the extras as the wallabies stretch their lead even further to 30 points

More possession for France. Now into their 13 phase as they edge forward.

The Aussies defence up close is really solid. A knock-on from France  and Australia have a scrum inside their half.

Simple mistakes for the Le Frogs are costing them dearly

Pierre Correia is making life hell for the Wallaby front row as France win the scrum back.

Les Bleus take it through the phases again. This time 6 phases without moving forward, not even a little HOP from the Le Frogs so Boyet puts ball to boot.

Ashley-Cooper starts the counter as the Wallabies make it to the French 22. "OUCH" late tackle YELLOW CARD to Boyet. Silly boy just play some good old rugga than worry about hitting blokes you big THUG [-X

The French are looking tired, they've coming off a very, very long season and seem to lack a bit of motivation now.

30 points down and fifteen minutes away from a holiday, their minds appear to be drifting from this match. man the scoreboard i reckon cause the wallabies will run this match out

The Wallabies this time laying siege to the French line. "CHARGE: "VIVA LE WALLABIES!!!"

Three times the French are penalised for going off-side and Burgess taps and goes to keep the momentum up.

It goes out wide on the right. Giteau skips Hynes to pass to Cross....................who scores a try! :supz:

Giteau keeps his perfect kicking scoring again, eight from eight for the Wallaby number ten who's been outstanding...

More possession for France, which should worry new coach Robbie Deans.

France into their 6th phase again, but they can't punch through the Aussie defence.

The French have run out of legs, (get out of the kitchen then) every time there's the slightest opportunity they slow it down with an "injury." Mortlock trots off grinning

Picamoles kicks it out of the back of the scrum...and Trinh-Duc finds touch.

A penalty for France at the line-out and Trinh-Duc sets up a line-out near the Wallaby line.

This could be the last chance for France to score?

Yet another scrum for France as the experienced Dimitri Yachvili comes on to feed the Le Bleus' set piece.

For once the Aussies produce a decent scrum =D> (about bloody time) and win back possession. Giteau clears.

Conversion to Yachvili taking the final score to 40-10 .

That's the ball game. A convincing win for Australia, France had all the ball but didn't have a firepower to convert.

The Wallabies front row have not been up to international level for some time now. It's up to Robbie Deans to sort out the scrum problems. When Australia won their 2 world cups they had a superior scrum pack and if we are looking forward to winning the next world cup Robbie Deans & co will have to start sorting out the front row now.

Thanks Mags, great stuff :D

Nice one Mit80s.

Struggled through the Australia match after the stress of the Tri-Nations opener. Very very pleasing signs for the Wallabies, especially their youngsters and Giteau is really on song.

The All Blacks Vs Springboks first half was astonishing in its intensity. You couldn't leave the room for a second. The pace and ferocity of it was fantastic. Talk about rip into each other and fabulous territory rugby, JAS you would've loved it. Once again, the weather in MK's birth city was diabolical but at least the wind managed to hold off until the dying moments of the game.

Standout once again of course, Carter. Missed his first though. So'oialo in his first game as stand-in captain was inspirational. Smit went off injured and the Springboks really suffer without him. Some of SA's older players probably could be put to pasture but the experience is there and look out this weekend I reakon.

What a wonderful time of year :D
