just the "we dont pay players" comment has me thinking!

And what, pray tell, are you thinking?

Perhaps he's thinking that you don't pay players because none of the ones that were offered coin to play there accepted? Isn't that right, Bradman...

i have no idea who they spoke to

clubs can do what they like
the days of clubs not paying are gone, even in lower grades
thats not to say good players play for nothing for a club cos they do
whether for the love for club or whether financially they going ok and $50-$100 or so isnt going to matter much

I know for sure that West Croydon dont pay anyone, only if you get in the best couple of players on the day you get a little cash and after that the others get vouchers.

Without doubt some clubs are still on an amatuer basis
but majority pay even if its 1 or 2 players

He isnt playing anywhere at the moment Gums wouldnt release him but he will be back at WC next year. He has no interest going back to Gums now that Justin Carr is coach.
Also as a side note he has never taken player payments from WC and wont, he told me in person he couldnt do it to the club he loves. Thats fair dinkum. Although the club has paid for him to come back from Gepps a couple of years ago.

What's happened to the great man, no relation to Andrew or Darren, was louder than the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Brass section, blowing his own horn and beating his drum, as to the Demon's rebirth due to his skilled recruitment, rebuilding strategy and playing prowess............yet there he was last week reduced to an easel (white board support) at quarter breaks? :o :o :o

He hasn't been reduced to anything. He's the footy director and helps out both deano and charlie and has a kick every now and then. Best footy director Hope Valley has ever had by a mile
