Yeah, you'll all get cranky and say bloody C grade sides this and that, but when you win boys, just leave the opposition supporters alone, go into the rooms, sing your song. That is the way it is done.

  FFS open up your one eye idiot, don't suppose you witnessed every single player who went to the bench or was waiting to come on the field for St Pauls got abused non stop by Athelstone supporters did you? no didn't think so.

You guys have big gobs when it suits you but as soon as somebody gives it back you have a sook...disgrace!

Maybe we also didn't like the arrogance you're showing by having a meeting about whether or not to go up to Div 6 and it's only July

Maybe the Athelstone supporters & coaching staff need to swallow some of what their shovelling as those standing in, at & near their coaching box did not stop badgering, heckling, abusing & threatening the St Pauls players as they came through the interchange on & off the field, with a continuous barrage at the St Pauls coaching staff who were doing a sterling job of not only out coaching Athelstone on the field but also killing them with great one liners to the hecklers on the side lines & again had the ultimate answer with a convincing win! :D

After a great win why would you run & hide in your rooms & sing the club song.......its not AFL, theres no cameras or TV coverage, you sing it LOUD & PROUD on the ground for your club & faithful supporters as it is done from junior grades right through to seniors.

A big tip for Athelstone....keep your fertilizer where it belongs in the green houses and remember the old saying....."people (market gardeners) in glass houses should not throw stones"

Considering I was sitting in the middle of it all, have to say that Athelstone are barking up the wrong tree with this one...just pissed off they lost I think

There will always be a few idiots at every club that cast a bad light on the rest. One thing we have made an effort to do over the past few seasons at Henley is get a few of our lads into the opposition clubs rooms for a quick beer after the game. A few of the other clubs (notably St Pauls and Paralowie) have done the same when playing at our ground and I reckon that this small gesture can lead to much more respect between the leaders of the clubs and can help to minimise idiotic behaviour during and after the games. It's always good to have a chat to the opposition after the game - weigh up the other sides in the comp and dcome to realise that the blokes on the other side are usually pretty normal blokes, no matter how much you might dislike them out on the field.....

could not agree more with you mr sharkhunter i swear i'm the last to leave at every club we play against win lose or draw its footy afl,sanfl,div1 or div12 red if you cant have a beer with the bloke you just played against dont play the game as its a mans game and men drink beer  but as you just said hunter this small gesture does and always will go along way to keeping the relationships between rival clubs a healthy one and one that should stay that side of the white line!
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Angle Vale v St Paul's College OS
SMOSH West Lakes v Flinders University
Paralowie v Adelaide University
Athelstone v Mitchell Park
Henley v Sacred Heart OC

- This is the real match of the round i reckon...2 teams in red hot form. Game to be played at Gawler South FC so neutral ground for both. I'm tipping the Saints by 5 points in an epic
- Flinders need to win to keep their finals chances alive. Crabs by 39 points
- Paralowie easily....98 points Barnes to kick 10
- Athelstone at home by 29 points....pressure mounting on Mitchell Park with clubs breathing down their necks.
- Henley on their massive oval to strong. Sharks by 53 points

Adelaide Uni would want to kick better than they did last week! Some of the shots I saw them miss last week - disgraceful.

Get Mick Hogg into the side!

Y is it some clubs think they are above the league. I have never seen such umpiring like we had today. To get your team back in a game like we experienced today was crap. The team has enough talent to win the game with out blantent cheating. Some people might bag the crap out of me but i dont care. it is hard enough coming from a club who everyone just looks down on you like we are second class citizens . Investigate what ever you like bit try look in your own backyard. load of shit. Tell me when you take a mark in the square you are not put on a angle. Unless the other team is 2 points up.

Until the Amateur League want to resolve this issue and fairly asign club umpires that are then pooled by all the clubs in a Div and then allocated to either the Div above or below NOT the Div their club is in, this type of s**t will continue to happen. The only answer is to keep it neutral and if clubs can't produce an umpire fine them to pay for additional umpys from other clubs.
Who knows this may even reduce on field altercations, umpire abuse and perceptions and actual bias as we have all experienced being both on the giving and receiving ends.
