Heard Around Echunga they will have some key players out for this week and one important one may not make it back for a while Jesse Edwards Broken Wrist is a big loss for the Club. Leigh Munn - Broken Nose will miss this week only, Joey Whyatt Hamstring Two other key players are also in doubt with niggling injuries but may play - I now pick Kangy by 10 goals +.

Word around Echunga is that Munny didn't break the nose in the fight. He was at home looking in a mirror turned around and ran into a door. True Story. Looks like more will be 5 out for Echunga from last nights training...and the new recruit not turning up until next week. I would say that this weekend may be a B grade Echunga in the A grade.

only unconfirmed rumours.

apparently members of the callington committee are telling those at the club they have signed a kangarilla player to play and coach next year of they move to the rmfl.

possibly smelt as he has coaching experience and ties with the area or maybe brendon ward for his tactical nouse and rapport he has with those he coaches.

thats if they have enough on the table to entice them away from kangarilla

Cally would want to be putting their thinking caps on, especially after going down to Gumeracha today by 5 points. I have heard these rumours also and will believe when I see. I can say though, that any move to the RMFL would result in a big drop in support from locals, which they don't need.

Kangarilla up over Echunga by about 5 goals, after one point in it at the last change. Tough game with some spirited exchanges, but marred by unneccessary and potentially dangerous 'spear' tackle by a Kangarilla player on young Echunga gun Clint Guy in final term which we may hear much more about. Cory Smelt held to one kick ... one behind. Dragged twice during the game including vital last qrt.

Of course they don't. And committee members shouldn't be sharing this info with Joe Blow anyway, whether true or false. All club members should be consulted re coaching decisions and re-locations and as far as I know, this has not happened. Whatever happened to professionalism?

Out at Cally, Barnett is temporarily not coaching. Apparently the league were going to hit cally with a hefty penalty for playing a unregistered/suspended player but that dealt with it in house and Barny is gone (for a while).

Nairne Rams by 21 points over Meadows.

Best Nairne C Tarasenko,L.Murphy, T. Bean, J Lines ( 6 goals),L.Percy
Meadows B. Dawe, A Minnie

One of the best/toughest games of Country div footy for a while..Nairne led most of the way but Meadows came back with 6 goals to 3 in the last quarter. meadows did not have a relaible way forward. Nairne pace surprisingly with Gamma,Jinette and Burkett hurt Meadows. SANFL scouts NOTE; Young Brady Dawe will be a star..held more than his own against Nairne Dunning/Gransbury combo. His tap work was exceptional.

Great 2 c both teams both doing their presentations at meadows after the game..clubrooms was choccas. This is wot country foory is all about. A great rivallry building between these 2 clubs.

PS NBremer won the reserves..only their second win..,Dave Wheeler kicked 6 of their 7 gaosl..not a bad effort.

Heard that the Echunga/Kangys game was marred by some spiteful incidents especially a spear tackle by a Kangy player on one of the younger Echunga players. Apparently the umpires lost their way.

cally coach gone for a while?.....because it was dealt with inhouse? does that mean any club can break rules and deal with them inhouse to avoid a hefty fine?....maybe a coach wants a couple of weeks holiday....just break rules and have a club imposed suspension...what a joke!

Yep, 'tis a joke indeed. Since when have clubs been allowed to deal with misdemeanors 'in house'? I haven't seen Cally play for weeks and know nothing about the goings-on there. Did they play a suspended player or didn't they? If they did, there's a cut and dried penalty for that. Does anyone know the details and who is coaching now?

the echunga kangy game was tough and hard fought by both sides. i wouldnt say that either team was innocent at all.

while the alleged spear tackle in the last quarter was reckless and potentially dangerous i doubt it was mallicious and deliberate. the central umpire was 5 metres away and deemed it non reportable and given that i dont think the kangarilla player will get weeks. still not great but

what was more disappointing to see was he blatantly obvious and premeditated strike to the face of a kangarilla ruckman by cranna. for a guy with some talent he sets a bad example for the younger players at the club.

umpires did put the whistle away late in the game and considering there were three of them made it frustrating to watch.

i wouldnt get carried away over all the goings on though. both sides will play eachother again at some point and they can settle the score then
