Good on em if there are a few blokes getting on the piss and getting into the odd blue.. Last time I checked the GSFL is a country footy league so I don't see what the big deal is with players letting their hair down on a Saturday night.

Rodney it was a great post indeed. To be honest it didnt need a comeback, it was fair, to the point and full of factual detail and as my sidekick Panther32 and I would go far in the world politics.

Victor i hear have picked up Brad Hunter from South Adelaide. Big signing for them, he signed on last year but played the full year at the Panthers. Will be a very handy addition to an already strong midfield.

Would be great to see but he has alot of players around him that he will share the votes with. Mitch would rather continue winning premierships than a male medal in saying this though.

Victor i hear have picked up Brad Hunter from South Adelaide. Big signing for them, he signed on last year but played the full year at the Panthers. Will be a very handy addition to an already strong midfield.

He'll be extremely handy for Victor, i remember watching him play a game for South last year that was shown on ABC, and he kicked a few goals and looked handy.

Victor would now have a very impressive midfield, if they can keep some of these guys for the next few years they may challenge the top 3 sides quite soon.

There is no doubt that all squads picked (including all of the other zones) are not the best but they are the best available. It comes down to who is willing to put their hand up and make the committment. Leon you are probably talking about Alexopololous and McDonald, who I would personally say would not be 2 of my first picked, but they can play and they are committed to the cause. I am sure that they more than held their own.

Alexopolous and McDonald would be among the first 2 picked in most of the other GSFL sides at present and there would be a few more Willunga players if they made themselves available that would walk into any combined side.

I think he is. Played against both of them in their prime, both hard nuts that make you earn it and can change games off their own boot. Two of the best to play in the Gsfl

Great round of matches this week. With the recent heavy rain, could it be the week for a couple of upsets?!? Here are my predictions..

Strathalbyn vs Yankalilla - Strath should be too strong but as we all know Yank can be the Jekyll and Hyde of the GSFL depending on who they have available on any given week. Roosters by 7 goals.
Mt Compass vs Langhorne Creek - This will be an absolute arm wrestle, when the two sides met at this venue it resembled mud wrestling and I think there were less than 5 goals scored in total. Hawks by less than a goal, only cos they're my team!
McLaren vs Encounter Bay - Encounter Bay have shown glimpses of brilliance all season and will need to be ready for a tough hit out against the "other" eagles. The conditions will close the margin and I think McLaren are slightly better then what the ladder suggests. I'm going with the Bays in a tight one but I think McLaren could cause an upset if they can adapt to the muddy conditions. Encounter Bay by 3 goals.
Victor Harbor vs Willunga - Obviously Willunga will be strong favourites and regardless of the wet conditions they will simply be too strong. Demons by 8 goals.
Myponga/Sellicks vs Saints - They don't call them the Mudlarks for nothing! Myponga by 4 goals.

Thats a bit rough TC, your boys hang out with alot of the victor players and your president went to the Victor Harbour Presidents Ball two weeks ago! Are you just dirty on them cos with another in it gives them an even greater chance of making the top 5 and placing you in 6th two years in a row.

Creeks to beat Compass, just feel they will outbody the young Mt COmpass boys. If Orrock, Hicks and the other harder bodied players can match it with the creek Burdett, Maxfield and co should be able to provide the clean ball delivery to there potent forward line.
Encounter Bay over Mclarens, wont be as one sided as expected, little wet under foot will slow down the feelt footed bays and turn it into a test of wills. The bays still to get up with a little too much class aroudn the ground.
Willunga to beat Victor, a clash of the midfields here, Victors Midfield as strong as anyones and with the inclusion of Hunter to go with Hodge, Mckinlay, Jurek and Brown makes it all the more impressive. Our forwards are good in the wet and dry and Genovese kicking 6 last outing provides us with another avenue to goal.
Myponga to beat the Saints, i was impressed with the mudlarks a month ago, if they play the disciplined man on man style of football they did against us they will get over the saints.

Just got off the phone to BJ (Ernest09) and he said he is very concerned about Victor as they are one of the better teams going around and that on any given day any team can win, it's a two horse race. They always play well against the Demons and the inclusion of Hunter gives them just another midfielder to throw at him and his teammates. Being wet means the game will be extremely close and that it definitely won't be as easy as everyone else thinks and that come September Victor will be there challenging in finals. The fact that there will be 18 blokes from each team on the field at once means this is very much a 50/50 game for them...wilunga by 1 point.... Translation- Stay at home Victor, you will have more chance winning powerball saturday night than winning this game...Willunga by 135 points...would have been more but it IS raining!
