I know that Steve Hill and Zac Ewer were not each others biggest fans,so does anyone from the bloods believe that if M/Vale get the rite coach that maybe we could see Zac running around for M/Vale next season, and if this happened how would this affect Jervois next year.

I'm thinking Liam Flynn, Trev, Joe Pedler or Harrowfield. In my opinion, the winner needs to come from a top 4 team, that's just basic law of averages. So from the top 4 teams, those 4 blokes would be the stand outs. You thn need to ask yourself, are there too many good players stealing votes from each other in the Ramblers team...probably. Then it comes down to who will the umpires vote for...generally midfielders or well known players or players who stand out-big marks, flashy boots, blond hair. So my guess is.....if Trev buys himself a pair of Pedlers shoes and bleaches his hair he's a sure thing!

It's one thing to win the hit outs but I need to be getting more of the ball and kicking a few more goals(Isn't that right Hills ) to be in the running for the award. But thanks anyway.

How certain are you of that Goldberg? If it happens do you think a few others will join them like Schmidt and some of the other high profile bloods?

yes. Would be the only player from tb to poll, especially in their winning games

Lynch from Tailem has rarely been out of the best players, whether or not he attracts the umpires' eye is another thing though i guess.

For Imps, i reckon Hodge would have polled quite a few early on, but if he plays more at Sturt for the remainder of the year it may cost him a top 3 placing.

I think you will also find that M/Vale also want to get Zacs old man Wayne back involved at the club aswell.

This is the mail coming out of the weekend in Riverland GWW, & I suppose if he goes, others may be attracted there. Not sure of their points system if any, but a fair few Panthers come from the South, so may be even more attractive for M/V

From what i've read on the site Morph Vale traditionally don't pay a lot of $$'s, would this be likely to change if they could attract some of these Bloods players??

Also heard on the weekend that Hodge may be chucking Sturt in. Played 2 weeks ago & didn't get much of a run

Who knows GWW, but what I can say is that most of the Panthers current Paid players are pretty good blokes & may take a cut in pay, to play at home or closer to home. Anyway they have given pretty good service to the Panthers for the last 1-4 years (depending on Player), so why not

Probably fair enough if Hodge chucks in Sturt, at least for this year anyway, Imps will more than likely finish top 3 and have a reasonable chance of playing in the grand final. Sturt has a heap of depth, and the lad would probably only be playing off the bench here and there in the Reserves, so makes sense for him to play rest of the year in the RMFL. Imps would be desperate for him too given that Puckeridge is out for the year.

I cant see $am Mahoney going anywhere else to coach in 09 (unless the club doesnt re appoint him & his missus wont let him!). Im unsure what Zac is up to at this stage but with Reid up there hopefully he'll hang around for another season

you will poll very well P32.

i think Jervois will be stealing votes off one another. but i havent heard anyone mention Steve Braun.. He played in the association team and has had several BOG's this year! Problem is, he is a back men and rarely do back men get the praise they deserve (regarding the Mail medal anyway!).

My tip is with hogath, plays well every game and kicks those goals after crumming the packs.

Ramblers will steal votes off one another and we will probably see Liam, Pat oneill and Viney around the 13 votes mark!

hogath to win in the remaining 5 or so games.

Have to agree Hills!!!  Hogarth is a real smokey, but still think Quinn, purely because they've won a few more matches then Tailem, & he's an absolute stand out for Mannum. Ofcourse the top 4 clubs will poll well, & combined would smash the bottom 3 in votes but that the problem maybe. Too many getting the nod, not 1 guy each week

Quinn with 12 till now possibly

Lets be Honest here, who really knows what goes through the Umps head some days. Each year some1 gets votes & only plays half a game or something equally as stupid. However in their defence quite often you hear the quote "but we won that game by 10 goals, how could they get the BOG", well my theory on this is that if the losing teams best has 35 touches & makes use of them well, whilst the winning teams best only has 25, but there is 5 others who have 24 each, then the answer becomes pretty straight forward i would think.
Or 30 Hit outs hey Pantha

If Mahoney was to go to MV next year, might make the coaching position at the Bloods available to any assistants who may currently be there ;)
