Dont believe that there is much between the top side to the bottom to be honest... If the team turns up to play on the day anything is possible. Its usually just the quality in the team that gets the better side over the line.

Permit players made a huge difference.
Brad Mules was awesome for the Doggies.
The thing is, if they've got 6 extra players who are going to run and work for each other, rather than the fat old blokes who fill in, it makes a huge difference.

Was an awesome game yesterday, played in great spirit.
Just glad we got over the line.

Murray Mallee Barossa beat Central comfortably this after noon.

I can't understand why you fellas are carrying on over a few permits.
After all it is only independant footy

i agree CN i love playing footy and most of it is about enjoyement but of course i still play to win! most indy players do care if they win or lose.

BBJ if its ONLY indy footy why bother getting permits in the first place?

in my opinion they should be limited to say 2-3 blokes. If E.M really did run with 9 (i didnt end up asking anyone did see some faces i didnt recognise though) surely it hurts the club more than anything, thats 9 blokes who miss out (in theory) or a couple of emerging colts who dont get a game...

At least both teams were able to get over the line.
I know I would have been really pissed off if we lost to Wunkar/Loxton North/Pinnaroo.

Chuck if Paringa's forward line worked as hard as their back line they would have won by 10 goals+.

Apart from the 8 goal third quarter the forwards loafed.

The three LN players all played colts for Wunkar and apart from Mules will play for Wunkar again one day when they are to old for under 18's.

The two Pinnaroo lads are moving to the area and have committed to play for Wunkar in 09'. They missed the clearance deadline and may play on permits again.

Wunkar had 10 players on their injury list and without the permits would most likely have had to forfeit. It was a big crowd at Paringa on Saturday and they got to see a good game and when the Paringa FC treasurer banks the takings this week Paringa will realise they benefited more than Wunkar by having those blokes playing.

Nothing wrong with the game itself whatsoever.
Was a fantastic contest and one of the hardest games I've played in for a long time.

Our forwards did struggle, but our midfield let us down a bit too, especially in the first half.

Good to hear there'll be a few more boys out there next year.

And good to see Minus dominating up forward like he should.

Legends game yesterday was excellent.

It was an honour to play under Neil Kerley alongside names such as Vanderbiezen, Proud, Koch, Beech, Hampshire etc.

Rick Schubert nearing 60 was brilliant.

A big congratulations to the MMBB side that took out the country championships for the first time in a long time.If any of the players log in to this you all did yourself proud! the team was well coached By Craig griffiths and played strongly as a team in all three games. Pickles Arnold was amazing up forward taking crucial contested marks against Southern in a danger match, Leigh Kruger was fantastic off the back flank in all three games. Well done to the five boys from the riverland Damian Stevens, Leigh Kruger, Peter Safralidis, Michael Arnold And Ryan Bennett on making the state country squad.

It was disapointing to hear of half the southerners out on the turps saturday night, I guess they didnt take there loss to the MMBB very well as there used to making the final on Sunday every year! No doubt they will come back bigger & stronger nextyear.
