Why is it that in the senior colts' teams can only be awarded a 10 goal win? With the comp so close it looks certain to come down to percntage it would be pretty rough if you miss out after beating teams by 20+ goals and it comes down to the fact that your team only got awarded a 10 goal win. I would love to know all the REAL results and for that matter who are the leading goal kickers in the junior grades?

Just for the record the Saints SMASHED VH on the weekend 29-12 to 5-3. Good effort by our boys, their efforts should be rewarded by publishing the scores.

Getting back to this issue for you LF, it was discussed at a GSFL junior committee meeting last year (unsure about this year) and a the case was put forward that sides may miss finals because of percentage, a vote was taken and resulted in a 9-1 count in favour of keeping it. It was only the saints that voted to vote to scrap it.

Can someone please explain why 6 + the coach from Willunga played for Southern Districts in the carnival on the weekend?.
Surly out of all the 36 other clubs available there were better players than the Willunga boys, not all the 6 just maybe a couple.
Also talking to SS about the weekend,he did mention the southern boys did play up a fair bit on Saturday night maybe thats why they came 4th for the first time, very poor showing by all reports.

There is no doubt that all squads picked (including all of the other zones) are not the best but they are the best available. It comes down to who is willing to put their hand up and make the committment. Leon you are probably talking about Alexopololous and McDonald, who I would personally say would not be 2 of my first picked, but they can play and they are committed to the cause. I am sure that they more than held their own.

Not all of the Southern boys played up. A few did though and it reflected in how we went Sunday. Through very difficult circumstances we still managed to get a side together and play some competitive football on the Saturday. Beating the Northern zone fairly comfortably and heading the Mallee side for 3/4 of the game before there depth overran us and they went on to win. Before people jump up and down about so many Willunga players playing understand how hard it was to get a side together without the support of the leagues officials etc.

Sunday was disappointing, no 2 ways about it, injuries hit every team but we were down to 16 fit players by the end (a few of those were out til late) of the game but South East were too strong all over the ground. Congrats to those boys and all the players who make themselves available for such an enjoyable and challenging weekend of football.

FYI WoW Mitch had a few beers Saturday night but didnt write himself off, as hard as it is to believe he doesnt go out before footy anymore!

Lets remember Alex Jones made this side not all that long ago. Definately comes down to who is available and willing.

alright enough whinging and moaning, here are my tips for this week! Some very very close games this week

Strath Vs Yank - would love to see yank pull out something like they did against langhornes but cant see it happening, Yank are so unpredictable but think strah will be to good at home. Strath by 5 + goals

Mt Compass Vs Langhorne Creek - would say this would be game of the round, if the rain keeps pi$%sing down can see Mt Compass winning but if dries but will be very close. I think ill say creeks just because i like them more than compass. Creeks by 10+ points

McLaren Vs Encounter Bay - Danger game for the bay, cant afford to drop this one. Bays accounted for McLaren vale easily last time even though the score line did not show this. A lot of players were rested for the last half and senior colts were used. Bays by 5 + goals, still will be tight in this weather

Victor Harbor Vs WIllunga - Would love to see victor win but cant see them beating the geelong of the GSFL. Geelong opps i mean Willunga by 10+ goals. Please dont try and talk this down BJ you know you are a good team and everyone else does aswel.

Myponga Vs Saints - myponga were good agaisnt the bays and fought hard all day. They need to win these types of games to keep some credibility. Saints on the other hand have the spirit and the talk but cant produce the goods. Maybe talk of a new stadium might get the saints up and firing but heard they also have some injuries due to the week off, several street fights in adelaide may prevent from a few blokes playing. Pongy too good 30+ points

I think your tips are pretty safe that way cuzzy. Creeks V Compass and big game with both sides needing to hit the best form possible to tackle Willunga.

The question is with all this rain how is the Myponga oval going to be? Could the saints face a myponga like old wet, cold and muddy the way the pongy boys love it.

the bays played pongy earlier in the year after a week of rain and S%$t weather. I rolled up expecting it to be a mud bath but the ground was in really good condition. Not sure if its still holding up but was it better condition than alot of grounds. The strath oval was a mud bath a couple of weeks ago after the association game. Prob the worst iv seen for a long time

Cuzzy I dont think that any saints players were street fighting. One may be out due to a cut nose after trying to eat a glass.

I had a look at some of BJ's posts and thought I would put a few of my favourites together from this year already...

Willunga, Pongy are always tough at home tho and get up for games against us…Willunga by 72 points
Peeing down with rain, about 10 degrees at Yank and massive winds. There will be NO flogging at Yank this weekend.. Willunga by 115 points

the basics of it are both sides start equally on the day.

Its at Mt Compass and yes Compass are a good chance…Willunga by 143 points

With the way the Creeks have bounced back from Rd 2 im glad we arent playing them for a few more rounds..after Willunga beat them by 100 points
You werent that impressed with us u said so urself. So with Strath beating you guys by more than we did id say we need to play very well to get the points. Only won by 28 points

We will be putting a side on the park this week that will be competitive with Strath. Great to have challenges early in the season and this week will definitely be a tough game.

Strath down to Willunga for a big game hopefully we can pull it together and take the points

Against Goolwa...Im not sure how much we'll win by, we have to win first thats the most important thing. Willunga by 30-40…Willunga by 125

Bit wet on the weekend and im certainly not going to come on and say we will flog any side as each week presents a new challenge and gives every team a chance of taking the points

Damian things do and will go wrong but hopefully we have the depth and the people around the place to deal with the tough times!

The creeks will be a handful this week we have no doubts about that.
Willunga in a close one Willunga by 100 points…real close BJ!

Its never as clear cut as people think and theres always an upset just around the corner! Continuing to hear Strath are the team to beat!!!

Some exciting challenges ahead for us...

Some great stuff there BJ, you should go into politics...

Good on em if there are a few blokes getting on the piss and getting into the odd blue.. Last time I checked the GSFL is a country footy league so I don't see what the big deal is with players letting their hair down on a Saturday night.

P32 that was one of the best posts all year.

BJ hasn't changed in about 10 years, quietly modest and never letting up as much as what he really thinks.

Some big scores in there.

BJ for Prime minister.
