You said "Gone". My definition of gone is not making the finals but to be a real chance a top 3 spot is required. Even with our patchy form if we make top 3 we will be a threat - thats not what I call gone.

Interesting that you picked that one up mate, but I'm afraid you are wrong leftlegger...

Hey, if your side had the premiership success my side did, you'd be proud in showing it in any form, even a pissy little signature on the bottom of a forum page. I'm afraid you also got it wrong with the dig with me rambling on about our flags and a prediction of more to come. If you paid close attention to it, all it did was acknowledge the years we won and finished with my opinion of our club as an SANFL powerhouse of the modern day, that's all. 8)

I just like to have my signature match up to my avatar and when I had the Bulldogs logo, appropriately, I had something on there about our success. Not gloating as some people will no doubt say, just an acknowledgement of our rise from rags to riches in this century. Now, as you will notice (if you watch SBS and know of South Park) that my avatar has changed to Cartman from the show mentioned. If you are familiar with it, he is known for a catch cry of "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home" !!??

like I said above, just matching up my signature with whatever i have in the avatar. If you are on here regularly enough, you would have noticed that for about 1 week, I had a picture of Count Dracula from Sesame Street. My signature at the bottom was of course in line with that one and said something like "Let's count the Doggies Premierships... 1... ha ha ha ha, 2... ha ha ha ha.... etc etc... Even I thought after a few days that it was a it stupid and pissed it off pretty quickly. I think there was a post somewhere else that somehow brought up kids shows characters, hence my change, at least that's my excuse for now, anyway

In part, it was a double edged sword with the new Cartman avatar, and more so the signature accordingly, because I was in a shitty mood for a week or so and it was rubbing off on here with my views and opinions towards others and their posts. It was a slight suttle dig towards the Big Phil "haters" that I was going to take a few days off from posting here, hence the sarcastic dig (and Cartman avatar to go with) of... "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home... I might have just written a thesis with my explanation to the reasoning behind that so I will keep my response to your other point short and sweet...

NO, I HAVEN'T LOST CONFIDENCE AT ALL MATE... 8)

We've had a history of going through mid-season slumps like this in the past and have been proven to be exactly that, still going on to play a huge part in finals action, even winning a couple of flags along the way, As my old, old signature unobtrusively pointed out

I've supported my club for the last 20 years through thick and thin, ups and downs (worse than this as well, trust me !!) and as the old but famous cliche says, we'll take it one week at a time... I take the good with the bad equally and I know we'll be around the mark, like you say

Big Phil... :D

P.S - I'm not shitty anymore, so stay tuned for a new avatar and of course, signature that suits...

Maybe they are - but we wont know for sure til they are eliminated from the Premiership race.

The way I see it, the top 6 teams (at various times this season) have demonstrated a brand of footy capable of winning a GF.

It's just a matter of who is consistent enough to place themselves into the mix come September, (preferably with the double chance), and who is able to produce their best form at that time. (Finals experience invaluable in assisting with this)

Probably stating the obvious really, but I think the Premiership race is wide open at this stage which is great for the comp.

ps - Good to meet you last Sat'dy Big Phil - keep up the good work!
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Couldn't agree more with your post Hazydog, well said...

At this stage, many are saying a Sturt v Glenelg GF already (there's even a topic on here about it   ) but I agree about the team that has the best form come the latter half of the season and of course throughout the finals.

Top 3 is naturally the better place to be in terms of having a relaistic tilt at the flag (not too many teams have done it from outside the top 3, am I right Spelly :-k ?) and while I think it is still only a 3 horse race (Glenelg, Sturt and Centrals - yes, even with our current form 8) ) anything can happen in 12 weeks of footy...

By this I mean form (as Doggies fans know  ) injuries, suspensions (as we also know  -not sure how Sladey went yet ?) and player availabilty will all play a big part in who the sides are that get that all important top 3 spot. But hayzydog's point about it being great for SANFL footy is spot on. The comp is as healthy as I can remember in the last 10 years, with crowd numbers up, some great games of footy played (some not so great ones as well) and the spot for finals well up for grabs by up to 6, maybe 7 of the 9 teams. \:D/

GO U DOGGIES & THE SANFL... :supz:

Big Phil...

P.S - Good to meet you too Hayzydog, thanks for the praise, I'll keep trying 8-[

From memory, the Port Magpies used to have the odd mini-slump in June throughout the 90's before they invariably owned September
